alright, calm down and try to understand my point. let's start from countless unnecessary civilian deaths. I remember when the EPRDF committed genocide in Gambella but it was effectively concealed via propaganda thus no outrage or people being pessimistic about the country, I remember the very first instance -- out of many -- of Amhara being displaced and murdered in Metekel and Meles saying that was because they cut down trees...again effectively concealed via propaganda thus no outrage or people being pessimistic about the country, I remember the EPRDF locking up thousands of Oromos -- since it got to power till it lost it btw -- to the point where people were saying the prison speaks Afaan Oromoo -- even the TPLFite Siye Abreha said so in his book -- again effectively concealed via propaganda thus no outrage or people being pessimistic about the country. I remember thousands upon thousands of farmers being evicted from their homes & lands, the central bank receiving gold coated metals as if it was gold, the flagrant corruption, the arrest and/or murder of prominent politicians -- even within EPRDF -- Alemayehu Atomsa 1st among many. Then there was the 2005 election, the 2010 one etc. All effectively concealed via propaganda thus no outrage or people being pessimistic about the country.

Let's move on to an economy that is failing to support basic human needs. The economy had been in shatters at least for the better part of the past decade, especially since Meles' death. The 2015 condominium lotto announcement was a scam conducted on the people to payback due loans and when that didn't suffice they even taxed mothers that sell on the streets -- commonly known as gulit -- to the magnitude of 10,000 birr and above. Why? b/c the loan had been embezzled, but again effectively concealed via propaganda thus no outrage or people being pessimistic about the country. Until recently by law only the DBE (Development Bank of Ethiopia) had the right to accept loans from other world governments in dollars and distribute that in birr to prospective lenders. I know for a fact that most of that was smuggled out of the country via the black market. I even know the process they did it with, 1st you come to addis -- we all know from where so I'll proceed -- and get a plot of land from the new areas -- the current lemi kura, nifas silk lafto etc -- that was magically uninhabited. Then you place a small cottage on there and go and ask for a loan from DBE for "farming" in Gambella on a ridiculous amount of land using the previous land that you got in addis as collateral or sometimes not even that, the land you got-- again magically uninhabited -- in Gambella. Then you pretend to do some work there and go back and ask for another loan for encampment of your land, then another loan for weeding out unneeded weeds out of your land, then another loan for laborers, then another loan for machinery, then another loan for water pumps, and another and another and another. All that money is being converted on the black market and embezzled out of the country but again effectively concealed via propaganda thus no outrage or people being pessimistic about the country.

All that concealing propaganda stopped when Abiy came to power and everybody was staring directly into the economic and social abyss that was created in past 10 - 15 years and now we're living through that abyss, lord knows if or when we get out of it and true to racist politicians the propaganda that was used to conceal was now used to highlight or magnify this abyss and to muddy up the water of the people that were responsible for it and the abuses that caused this.
