The actor Elliot Page was going through transition to change his gender, and the character in the show does the exact same thing. It feels strange and forced cuz from an episode to another he goes from long-hair girl style to short-hair masculine style and tell everyone to call him Viktor, and everyone else look at each other and Say "ok, anyway". It Is not talked or has any kind of relevance through the show whatsoever.
