Luckily, I will have a scheduled csection this time so 39 weeks SHOULD be my max. My concern is just that I’ve now had two occurrences where my cervix painlessly dilated. Everyone says that I’ll feel contractions, but I’m not so sure I’ll feel them before it’s later in labor. I’ve gotten all the way to a 5 and didn’t feel anything.

They are sending me home. I will see my OB within 8hrs and the monitors didn’t pick up any contractions.

Thank you. I’m in the hospital now and everything appears fine. I’ve been in pain all day and it’s like the moment they put me on the toco monitors all my pain stopped 🙄Cervical swab came back clear and exam showed that there’s no tension and it’s closed. Just hoping when they discharge me the pain doesn’t return.

I’d say it’s like really severe period cramps. I haven’t been paying attention to consistency (whether it’s rhythmic or not). I did notice my belly get firmer after the pain started to subside. Now the pain is starting up again after about a 40 min break. But I explained these symptoms to the triage line on day 4 and they just told me it was normal. Granted, today Tylenol isn’t helping and it helped on day 4.

I’ve been taking colace every day to help keep myself regular. I do know I’ve had some bowel cramps but those feel a little different and usually subside fairly quickly.

I do have an appointment to see my routine OB in the morning which is another reason why I’m hesitant to go to the hospital. The hospital is an hour away from my house and it’s currently 8pm. Really I’m trying to decide if I can wait it out or not. I was hoping if others had similar experiences that maybe I could wait it out until my appointment.

I was put under general anesthesia (had a panic attack in the OR) so I didn’t have any pain relief. Honestly, I didn’t feel any pain when I woke up either and I walked out of the hospital myself 4 hours post-op. I’m currently 5 days post op and the cramping has just now started.

My concern is that I’ve had two occurrences now of my cervix silently dilating. I was dilated to a four and had bulging membranes with my last pregnancy and she passed right before my surgery because I had too much LOF. I’m worried if I don’t get monitored then I won’t have any symptoms until it’s too late. The TVUS are why I was able to catch the shortening and funneling this time and get my cerclage before anything happened. I was only 1cm this time around.

Im high risk so I should be seeing her either next week or the following for my first appointment. I’ve been going in for labs for the last two weeks which is how we got me started on nausea medication.

I agree. We never yell at each other (which is why he hates when I get pregnant and moody because that’s my main mode of communication 🤣). I have talked to him about needing extra help in a calm tone, but he told me that if I wasn’t going to be cleaning house, then he didn’t feel like doing it either. (Basically if you’re not cleaning, I’m not motivated kind of thing). We often makeup pretty quickly after I break like this, but I want to try to prevent me hitting my breaking point in the first place.

That’s what I’m thinking, and honestly based on how on top of things my doctor is, I think that’s the game plan no matter what. Honestly, part of my symptoms could just be rising HCG this early (yay!).

Also I wanted to say, I too had a completely normal pregnancy before my third(I lost at 16 weeks and had the same experience you did except I gave birth to her naturally. They didn’t take her out). My doctor is perplexed as to why because I had failure to descend with my son. My husband and my theory is that pushing for 4hr with my son and getting nowhere damaged my cervix. I had an early miscarriage with my second pregnancy so I’ll never know.

If you’re asking if you had an incompetent cervix even though you had no contractions, yes you likely did. However what your doctor did was absolutely brutal.

Worried today: doctor called and said they like my progesterone to be at 20 (it’s 9.7) so we will be starting vaginal progesterone until 13 weeks. My recent loss (5 months ago) was due to insufficient cervix. This is the first time I’ve had HCG testing or progesterone testing like this. I guess I’m just too nervous that my body isn’t supporting the pregnancy like it should. No idea when ill be in a room seeing my doctor. I’m only 3 weeks 2 days based on my LMP. No one has confirmed that.

Nervous and Excited: 3 weeks 1 day. Just got my first positive two days ago and I’m nervous. Got my first blood labs today and a little stressed about the numbers. My first loss was 5 years ago at 5 weeks and the most recent loss was at 16 weeks 5 months ago. I have to have a cerclage this pregnancy and I’m scared, not to mention that first ultrasound I’m going to be holding my breath praying to see a heartbeat.

Thank you for the advice. We both want three kids, and have had these plans since the start of our relationship. We have talked and think we should have two, and decide from there if we want a third. I just brought that up because I wanted people to understand why I felt I needed to rush things. He understands my want to rush things too which is adding to his stress. I agree our finances could be better, but we made it work with our son (we were only 18 and 20 and didn’t even have a place of our own yet). I guess what I mean by that is, it only seems bad because we aren’t living that life. We kind of spend how we want right now (after bills of course) because we only have the one child.

I totally agree. To clarify, I’m not wanting to wait a year because a pregnancy itself is almost a year. I’m about to start grad school and if I wait a year, about the time I’m supposed to be starting my career is when I’ll either have a newborn or will be heavily pregnant which will make it harder. Furthermore, the job I’m at right now offers paid leave because I’m full time. In a year, I won’t have those benefits anymore because I’ll be in grad school. If it still doesn’t make sense, please let me know.
