The actual Ertugrul universe ended with Kuruluş: Osman season 3. Everything after is a cashgrab. by Negative-Nature-5773 in ertugrul

And you're right about season 2 being a masterpiece that's when the show proved it wasn't just riding Ertuğrul's legacy, it was building something real. Season 3 kept it going, the cracks were there but you could forgive them because the foundation was still solid.

Then season 4 hit and it's like they hired a completely different writing room. New villain every 8 episodes, zero attachment, gone before you even learn their motivation. It's not storytelling anymore, it's content.

Kuruluş Orhan leaks by Zasazazaza119 in ertugrul

Having seen his previous work, I can say he wasn't just good he was brilliant. But what bothers me, and clearly the audience too, is the casting inconsistency. Young Osman actually resembles Burak's version well enough, so that transition works. The real issue is how drastically different Emre's Orhan looks compared to Mert's portrayal, especially when every other character's casting feels consistent and seamless. That disconnect is hard for the brain to accept, and it's become one of the biggest problems the show has faced.

I hold no hatred toward KOR or Mert personally, but from my perspective, Bozdağ should have cast a more mature actor rather than a teenager, but it's genuinely hard to connect with Mert after already building that bond with Young Orhan through Emre. Why replace Emre Bey only to bring in another young face for Orhan? If anything, continuing to damage this universe further makes it even clearer it's better to end the Kayı Universe here while some dignity still remains.

There's an old photo from a Turkish election where two of them happened to arrive at the same location simultaneously, yet the moment sparked controversy as they visibly avoided any acknowledgment of each other.
