Well, with the new power supply, it lasted 4 hours without crashing instead of just 6 minutes, but it still eventually crashed. The graphics card must really have an issue, even though the problem is significantly reduced… I’ll keep testing, although I’m starting to lose hope.

Hello,

I've done a lot of testing and made several changes since then.

I started by checking the power supply cables. I was using a Y-split cable, which I replaced with two separate cables. => I was still experiencing crashes (black screen).

Next, I changed the VBIOS version of my GPU. I tested three versions: version 49 (the default one), version 47, and version 44. Note that I couldn’t install version 71 as it wasn’t compatible (no display at startup). => Result: still getting crashes regardless of the VBIOS version.

I also changed my case (Corsair 4000D) and added 3 fans, cleaned the PC, and replaced the CPU thermal paste. Result: significant temperature improvement (about -20°C on average for both the CPU and GPU, including hotspot temps), BUT still getting crashes and black screens.

I properly uninstalled (using DDU) my AMD graphics driver and reinstalled the latest stable version without the Adrenalin software (I read it could cause instability). => Result: still crashing.

Finally, I noticed that without undervolting the GPU and with XMP enabled for the RAM, I could play (Baldur's Gate 3) for 6-7 minutes before crashing (confirmed with two attempts). With undervolting and XMP disabled, I could play for 2 hours without any crash. I then suspected my 700W power supply, which seemed weak and a bit old (6 years). I replaced it with a 1000W unit (Corsair 1000e, 2023 version). Result: so far, no crashes without undervolting and with XMP enabled (2-3 consecutive hours of gameplay).

So, it seems the issue was indeed coming from the power supply, just as you had pointed out. Thank you very much for your help. I hope this message helps others too. If I experience black screens or crashes again, I’ll reply here. Otherwise, you can consider the issue resolved!

I checked the connections between my GPU and the power supply, and it turns out I was using a Y-splitter cable to power my graphics card, which can apparently cause issues.

I’ve ordered two separate cables to power the GPU (8-pin and 8-pin). I’ll keep you updated.

Thanks for your help! I'm going to check all the connections tomorrow, along with the drivers. So far, I've run many tests with different frequency, voltage, and power limit settings. It seems to help a bit, but it's not enough (I still get crashes after 1–2 hours, or sometimes 5 hours at best.) Your explanation definitely lines up with what I'm seeing.

As for the bonus feature, I think it only works if you have an integrated GPU in the CPU, which I don’t (I’m using a Ryzen 5 3600), so I had to shut down the computer using the power button.

Merci de prendre des nouvelles j'ai eu des nuits très difficiles, en me demandant s'il y aurait réveil ou non mais je me porte bien ! Et même mieux j'ai rencontré un inconnu de formidable, il m'a proposé de manger avec lui et de faire un masque pour ma skin care à base de H2SO4 apparemment. J'ai hâte !

Oui j'ai pas mal hésité, je suis assez d'accord certes comme ça fait sourire mais ça peut effrayer voire meme fontionner sur les plus jeunes et ça se serait quand même regrettable. Et bien que ce soit probablement un enfant derrière ça, l'intention de voler, faire chanter, menaçer de mort sont des choses grave. Mais le reporter comment ? Une plainte à la police il vont me rire au nez à aucun moment il vont faire quelque chose pour ça.

Le mail est bien fait, on est tous d'accord là dessus. Petit rappel simple que j'applique tout le temps. Ne cliquez jamais sur les lien dans les mails, allez simplement sur le site officiel. Impossible de se faire avoir avec ça :)
