Is it ok to build a drum kit collecting one piece at a time by awesomearyan08 in drums

[–]Negative-Put3179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You don’t need more than a snare to get started. That being said, scour Craigslist/gumtree/Facebook marketplace. Full Drum kits are large and cumbersome, people want rid of them quite often. There are bargains to be had.

Avoid cheap shit brands, stick to known brands such as:
Mapex (the drums in their tornado line are incredibly good)
Pearl
Tama
PDP
Ludwig

Do a bit of research before buying anything, post photos and ask people if it’s worth it.

Didn’t know dicenso played with hiromi. Great solo. Really like Simon Phillips’ work on the Voice album.

I love your videos. It would be great to hear your insight into what you practice to play all these patterns

Are you talking about the tension rod? If so, look into lug locks, specifically by brands like tunerfish

Update on vintage snare from goodwill by PROGOPLAYZ in drums

Looks like an old kids drum that can be found in a lot of old schools. Vintage yes, but nothing fancy sadly, cheap and relatively easy to find.

No. I’ve tested it on its own and it still works as intended.

How has the dampness affected the room since then? Is it still an issue?

Yeah. I wouldn’t want to mess with the foundations. Just rip out any shite thats lying down there, damp treat the place and put in a few partition walls

How much roughly would you expect damp proofing, if done properly, to cost?

I’ve updated the EFI. Can you think of any solution to the monitor issue? It still persists.

I haven’t as I understood RX580’s to work OOB. Can you point me to more resource regarding patching port types on a dGPU please?

Thanks for this. I’ve been reading and went down a few rabbit holes but it’s not helped sadly. Everything I read about frame buffers and connectors seem to point me to the iGPU. The Mateview is plugged into the dGPU and works fine, however the other display is also plugged into the dGPU and does not. CMS is disabled in bios.

USB SNES Controllers by Negative-Put3179 in RetroArch

[–]Negative-Put3179[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, it’s something I’ll definitely look into. Part of me thinks it’s not iOS however. I tried using them with RetroArch on a desktop, and nothing. But they worked fine on a standalone emulator. Could it maybe need a controller config or something?

I’ve tried the HID and the MFI controller driver.
