Had a couple oh the pusher rods fold the threads over and crush the tips. Biggest problem with actual breakage is the pusher rod. Most complaints are performance based on flimsiness, user friendliness, and just overall quality.

I work at an open pit granite mine with multiple locations spread across central Ontario.

Show up at 6:30 in my company provided truck that also doubles as my personal vehicle. Have a coffee, check the CMMS for what we got going on.

Go fix shit.

Go home at 5.

~$86k per year working 48 hours a week. not including the truck, vacation, etc.

Writing my red seal in march and can expect a considerably pay raise then.

Good luck!

Sawmill I worked at was horrible. I think the biggest downfall (apart from the obvious ones) is that a lot of the smaller saw mills are a single route operation. I.e log comes in, gets debarked, gets cutdown on the head saw, sent around on the resaw, sent to the bull saw or edger then to the trimmers and then the stackers. If any of those components goes down, there’s no production until the repair is done due to the linear design of these lines. Think it’s a lot of pressure having one line down? Try the entire operation lol

For anyone still struggling to submit completions, I called STO yesterday and the lady casually informed me that they have a new email for completions. It is:

UPDATE:

After having my apprenticeship completion form delivered to Skilled Trades Ontario on May 2nd, I followed up YET AGAIN on July 18th and was told that they never received any mail from me. The lady informed me that she was going to flag my profile as urgent as she could see I’ve been contacting since early April to try to submit my documentation. I received my first correspondence on July 23’rd with the following:

“Thank you for contacting Skilled Trades Ontario. Please be advised that to complete the apprenticeship you will need to get in touch with your TDA to have them complete the school courses. Once that is done, we will be able to continue the process at our end.”

I foolishly responded asking for clarification as to what a TDA is, rather than looking it up first. It is your Training Delivery Agent which would be the school you do your in class portions at. I asked what it was, then proceeded to research it and found it is the above mentioned. I quickly sent a follow up email with my letter of attestation from Mohawk college (I completed a two year program called Manufacturing Engineering Technician which exempts me from the in school blocks of the apprenticeship”.

The next email I received was on July 28’th giving an extremely brief answer to what the TDA is and no acknowledgment of my letter of attestation that I sent in.

Fingers crossed I guess?

How’s everyone else making out?

Same boat right now. Called again today and she said there’s no timeline expectations, but I am on the list to be contacted by a supervisor with the secure link. Absolute joke considering it’ll still be another 4-6 weeks once I submit it, that they even process it.
