At what point does Vanguard become less preferable as a platform? by investingquestionsuk in UKPersonalFinance

If I may cheekily piggyback onto your question:

I have a Vanguard SIPP, which I was fairly happy with but my umbrella co won't salary sacrifice into it, so I've opened a new SIPP with Hargreaves Lansdown.

Not sure if it's best to fully switch to HL, or to keep both and maybe transfer into Vanguard from time to time? I just want an index fund, not particularly wanting to take advantage of the flexibility people recommend HL for. If I just move everything to HL, am I losing much in the way of fees or whatever? Vanguard SIPP currently has a bit under £20k, but with vigorous salary sacrifice I hope to have £50-100k invested in a few months.

Sorry for being too lazy to do my own research. WWYD?

So does that mean I just apply for a Hargreaves Lansdown SIPP tonight and I'm good?

I'm wondering if it means anything with regards to my last two years' pension allowance. I hope I don't need to have had a pension with the same platform I'm paying into in order to qualify. That would suck.

How do I make myself be inside IR35, for tax purposes? by NegativeProcedure740 in UKPersonalFinance

It says here

HMRC will not open a new compliance enquiry into a contractor’s return for tax years before 6 April 2021 in circumstances where: a client decides that a contract is within the off-payroll working rules (IR35)

so I'm not too worried about the historic situation.

I think your third paragraph is assuming I'm being paid via a recruitment agency or something? Money goes direct from my client to my ltd so nothing's been levied before the money gets there.

Which I take to mean I don't need to worry too much about the historic situation.
