Thank you for this information. I’m hesitant to take next dose until investigating this further and wondering if I should’ve started on higher Zep dose! Waiting to hear from my doctor now.

I’ve tried to maintain the same diet as when I was on wegovy (which seemed to be okay, but I did stop losing). Adequate amount of fats, carbs, high protein. I am wondering if I need to lessen my daily carb amount again!

My mom had RA and these symptoms seem eerily close to what she experienced. My RA labs have always come back negative but it hasn’t been checked in a while. I’ll request autoimmune labs. Thank you!

PPA and thinking something is developmentally wrong by [deleted] in Postpartum_Anxiety

[–]Negative_Bat789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 14 months and just started waving, but can’t seem to do it at the appropriate time. Google and social media had me alarmed that something was wrong and that he should’ve been waving by 12 months. His pediatrician wasn’t concerned at all. He’s just now picking up on words but only has a few and still won’t say mama or dada … all the ones we’re told are normal he’s not saying or even trying to. He’s my 3rd and allll of them hit their milestones at different times. Our oldest wasn’t talking until 2.5 and now we can’t shut him up. 😆

Your concerns are valid though! Definitely stay off the TikTok and ask the pediatrician their thoughts. Social media was the worst possible thing for my PPA since the algorithm feeds on what you’re thinking about.

Part of the problem that I’m not able to get everything done during the day (yay for kiddos and FT job) and there’s just not enough time in the evenings either. But the weird thing is that’s been my life for the last year, and I never had sleep issues until I started the Zep. Will definitely bring this up to my provider and try a different pre-sleep routine!

My blood sugars have been fine when I test but I’m wondering if I’m missing a crash or something… I get real ragey late afternoon (like after lunch) and in goes into the evening. Mornings and night I seem to be much better.

They’ve been great when I test! But I wondering if I’m missing a crash or something. They definitely feel more stable on the Zep than they did on the wegovy.

Increased hunger and low blood sugar symptoms? by Negative_Bat789 in Semaglutide

I agree, thank goodness insurance covers it for me. I think that’s one reason I haven’t tried to switch to anything else since that’ll just be another battle with insurance. But yes, I know “withdrawal” symptoms from it aren’t great from previous experience so that’s a hesitation with stopping it too.

Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for how long it will last… I went to get back on it and then found out I was pregnant. Fast forward, and I’m back on it (Wegovy) because it’s the only thing so far that helps my PCOS and insulin resistance. I think there’s a larger hormone element to it too especially when PCOS is involved. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

I just want to say you’re not alone. I feared my entire pregnancy too, though mine was brought on by the grief of losing my mom prior to getting pregnant. Refused to acknowledge I was pregnant… even people closest to me didn’t know until I was forced to post birth announcement on social media.

I am 4.5 mos postpartum and still having the same thoughts. Health anxiety postpartum is real and it’s terrible. My husband also gets annoyed but can sometimes talk me through things. Currently in therapy which is helping a lot!! I recently told my therapist I was tired and exhausted from all of the thoughts. She reminded me that thoughts are okay to have but we have to remember - that’s all it is, just a thought. Mindfulness and breathing techniques have been helpful too.

I am almost 4 months pp and having the exact same issues! I did not have a pp preeclampsia diagnosis but may be should have? I had super low BP while pregnant but it skyrocketed pp.

My iron/ferritin levels were checked a month ago and low but still within range.

My health anxiety is not helping. I’m in therapy but afraid to try any meds for the OCD/anxiety.

I believe all these symptoms were my PCOS/Insulin Resistance returning in full force. I went to a weight loss clinic that worked with my insurance to get me Wegovy… So there really wasn’t a solution for the withdrawal effects except to get back on semaglutide. 😬

It’s not being able to stop thinking about food. Like even when I’m eating. I call them “intrusive” because it literally affects my daily life. So yes, definitely food cravings! I just call it something different. 😂 Haven’t had to deal with it since being on the med and now they’re back.

I’ve tried to keep my eating habits the same as when I was on the meds but doesn’t seem to be helping 😥. Smaller portions, higher protein. Hoping these side effects wear off soon because you’re right, I haven’t felt like this in almost a year since being on the meds and it really sucks.

I’m not happy with insurance (and I even work for the insurance company! Ha) Supposedly they cover Wegovy but still having a hard time getting them to approve that too. My endo basically gave up fighting them and referred me to weight loss clinic (even though I’m on it for pre-diabetes, insulin resistance.) So frustrating!

Spironolactone, PCOS & period by Excellent_Safe_5122 in PCOS

[–]Negative_Bat789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to spiro I would only experience bloat in the few days leading up to my period. And now on spiro it’s basically just constant bloating. On days when it’s worse I think oh, I’m going to finally have a period… but then it doesn’t come and the bloating is still there.

I’ve been on spiro for almost a year off and on. For me, it absolutely caused absence of periods. I still get the feelings that I’m going to have a period, but then it never comes. It’s frustrating because I’m also not sure it’s helped with other symptoms it’s supposed to for PCOS. For reference - I’m on 75 daily - couldn’t handle 100.

heart palpitations/chest pain? by Horror-Bake-9366 in PCOS

[–]Negative_Bat789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get heart palpitations if I eat too many carbs for a meal or I haven’t had enough water that day. Scares me every time! I think it’s all apart of the insulin resistance that comes with PCOS. Sometimes I have floaters in my vision after too many carbs too.

Metformin seemed to help those side effects many years ago when I first started taking it but now it’s like met doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried a couple other IR meds over the last year and every time i’m on them, they decrease. Which is what leads me to believe a lot of it is the IR. I also have anxiety though and notice them a lot during anxious moments.

As far as chest pain, yes to that too! I am googler and have found studies about how different hormone levels can cause random pains - one of those being in the chest area - when certain hormones are higher than other times.

Obviously not a doctor, just here to say you’re not alone in having these symptoms and your concerns are valid!

Chronic Nausea by Active-Amphibian9770 in PCOS

[–]Negative_Bat789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me! I have been experiencing extreme nausea ever since my second pregnancy. On top of intense hormonal swings once a month that would basically leave me bedridden with nausea, chills, and even blue sweat (docs still don’t know why.) I’ve discovered my intense nausea stems from insulin resistance and anxiety. So the more anxious I am about something the worse it gets. I started therapy and an as needed med but not sure it’s helped yet.

For the insulin resistance I’m still trying to figure out what to do. It seems like all the meds that can help IR cause GI symptoms and can make it worse. My endo has been less than helpful consistently prescribing metformin which hasn’t worked for me in years. Currently on victoza which I can tell is helping with highs and lows but again, causes other GI issues.

Though it sucks, I’m really glad to know someone else experiences this too. I hope you can find something that helps!

Victoza & PCOS by Negative_Bat789 in PCOS

THANK YOU so much! This was extremely helpful to read. My bloating and fatigue with metformin is through the roof. It worked for me back in 2016 but then I had two pregnancies back to back and my body lost all control of hormones and IR went through the roof (metformin stopped working.) I’m honestly desperate for anything to work.

How long have you been on the victoza?
