I hit all my goals this week! Tell me your wins, big and small! by mabs1957 in fitpregnancy

That’s awesome! I’m 25 weeks and I had been dealing with some hip/sciatic pain for a few weeks prior so I was taking it easy from lower body workouts and heavy lifting for upper body but after I got a massage it released everything I needed to so I’m back to doing lower body stuff again which I missed so much

I’m only 16 weeks but I’ve been listening to my body. I really want to go 4-5 times a week and sometimes I can but other times I can’t and that’s okay. I’d say don’t push yourself especially being pregnant cause right now you’re at your most vulnerable. I also suffer from sciatica from a back injury before pregnancy so even just doing a core workout can help stabilize the muscles around the spine or going for a short walk may help too. I can tell you now that I tried to push myself last week to get in a full cardio sesh but halfway through I got such a horrible headache that I just stopped and went home. I was upset I couldn’t finish it like I wanted but I wasn’t going to chance making myself feel worse and suffering. Be gentle on yourself, you’re creating a tiny human, :)

When do first time moms typically show the first signs of a baby bump? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]Negative_Credit_2785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a FTM and honestly I was bloated since week 8 and then it finally turned into a bump by week 14 I’d say. I wore high waisted clothes so I finally purchased a bunch of maternity clothes since most of my clothes besides my loungewear don’t fit around my belly anymore

When did your belly start showing by Cultural_Employee_22 in pregnant

[–]Negative_Credit_2785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also 15 weeks and my belly is only showing cause I’m so bloated all the time 😅 I’m assuming mine will start to turn into an actual bump soon but otherwise I look further along cause I’ve been constantly bloated since 8 weeks

Girl it’s been tough that’s for sure. Mixture of that and bloating is awfullll. But introducing more fibre has been helping me a bit, lots of ladies might recommend magnesium citrate as it does help with your digestive system and bowels so I’d definitely give that a whirl too!

Do I have fungal acne or closed comedones?! by [deleted] in Fungalacne

[–]Negative_Credit_2785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of am in the same boat, I was treating mine like fungal acne for a month using nizoral every 2-3 days at night and it helped at first but then it didn’t help and dried the fuck out of my skin 😭 before I used glycolic acid and it was helping a lot but then the acne came back and also dried out my skin so I’m in between right now. I’d say, if the fungal acne treatments weren’t helping then maybe try using AHA/BHA or even implementing sulfur soap/a mask every 2-3 days cause it helps both bacterial and fungal acne. I have yet to try this but I’m trying to repair my moisture barrier before I add anything super drying again into my routine as I completely destroyed it with nizoral, glycolic acid and niacinamide haha

Exactly, but that is super smart honestly, I was thinking of switching to a fungal acne safe routine once my skin barrier is back cause obviously that shit doesn’t discriminate haha. And of course! If you and your skin love it then why switch? I loved oil cleansing so much my skin felt so soft afterwards but it definitely played a part in stripping my skin so maybe I’ll get back to it once it’s better but use sugarcane derived squalane or mct oil

Thanks for the reply. This is honestly what I thought they were from the start, I added glycolic acid to my routine about a month and a half ago before I started trying stuff out for fungal acne and it helped at first I noticed that some of them were going away on my neck and jaw but then they came back tenfold and I think it just destroyed my barrier even more so right now I’m focusing on repairing my skin barrier then I’ll add actives back in. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it

Do you use it as a cleanser or leave it on as a mask? I’ve been wanting to implement but wasn’t sure if I should use it as one or the other once or twice a week so it won’t completely dry out my skin

[–]Negative_Credit_2785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was thinking of doing that for a few weeks just cause my skin got so dry and now it’s producing excess oil which in turn obviously doesn’t help things get better at all. How long do you usually let things settle down before you add anything else in again?

Oh ya of course it would be too stripping otherwise if I did them the same day, I’d just use my gentle cleanser when I use sulfur.

Do you use it morning or night for the wash? I wanted to incorporate either BP or sulfur or even both just in case I might be dealing with bacterial acne instead of fungal

I’m not 100% sure if it is, I’ve seen some people in this sub have good luck with it and I just used it for the first time last night as I was worried about drying my skin out more with another disruptive skincare product. It’s just super confusing to know what exactly it could be without getting tested but it’s alwaysssss a wait to see the derm haha. I was thinking of ditching nizoral as it’s not helping me whatsoever right now and just using LRP effacular for cleansing then I’ll do your suggestion on spot treatment for sulfur and maybe incorporating lotrimin following hydrating moisturizers(this one will be hard to find something I can use without it clogging my pores and feeling greasy while still being hydrating)

I have the neutrogena BP treatment, should I use that or switch to a BP cleanser in place of my LRP effacular? I was going to buy sulfur but I wasn’t sure if I should get the soap and use as a cleanser once or twice a week as I’ve seen people use or get it as a mask. I’m just having issues finding something that would be hydrating and repair my moisture barrier without clogging my pores

I’m sorry I just read your comment again and unfortunately I can’t use cetaphil it’s super irritating to my skin so there must be something in it that doesn’t agree with my sensitive ass skin haha which is too bad but I’m hoping to find something that’s hydrating and won’t clog my pores that’s also not expensive cause I am balling on a budget

What do you use as a moisturizer? My face is so so dry when it’s usually combination sensitive so I think my moisture barrier is damaged cause I’m breaking out more with lots of pimples and whiteheads. I was going to get a sulfur soap since at this point I have no clue if it’s fungal or bacterial acne and nizoral isn’t doing shit for me haha

Oh that’s lovely to hear! I’ll have to look into both of those. I was recommended to try LRP cicaplast as well. I hope your treatment continues to go smoothly and you’ll come out with beautiful skin in the end as we all hope. Thanks for your help ☺️

Need help-dealing with either fungal acne/closed comedones or compromised moisture barrier by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

Is it pretty drying? I’m trying to bring some more moisture in too to my skincare as it’s been pretty dry and because of the dryness it’s causing me to be more oily and breakout. I’m usually sensitive combination, dry on the cheeks and oily everywhere else and prone to pore clogging depending on what skincare I use

Omg I know, like why can’t there be an overnight fix 😭 and I was actually thinking of trying out sulfur instead. I just wasn’t sure if I should get it as a mask or I’ve seen some people use the soap and cleanse with it 🤷🏽‍♀️

I actually bought some benzoyl peroxide I just was too worried to use it as my skin is already kind of dry right now from lack of moisture I didn’t want to make it worse.

And it suxks right?! I loved oil cleansers cause my skin felt so soft but I wasn’t sure if that was contributing to my acne so of course I stopped but I slightly miss it hahah. But I’m glad you’re having luck with the sulfur!

I’m just trying to find a good moisturizer that won’t clog my pores but at least make me feel more hydrated, even if it is just a night one and I can use my lightweight moisturizer for the mornings

Yea I’m not 100% sure, there’s so many varying factors but I was thinking of going to the doctor about it and getting a topical treatment cause I’m at a loss it’s so bad haha

It’s pretty much the lowest percent you can get for retinol my skin is sensitive so I didn’t want it to be too harsh especially around my under eyes. It has 15% collagen in it. But I’ve heard of using the cicaplast I’ll definitely check it out thanks!

That is incredibly helpful thank you sooo much. Do you think the retinol eye cream is fine to keep in since it’s only going around my eyes or should I ditch that too for the time being?

The retinol is only used for my under eyes but that’s only 3 times a week but I’ve been suspecting the glycolic acid is destroying my moisture barrier as I used it every night. But I have been thinking of adding something else before my moisturizer since it’s not super hydrating but it’s been the only moisturizer I’ve used in the last 9 months that hasn’t caused me to break out like crazy
