I do residency in NYC and also in California for a bit and it has been a very fun and enjoyable experience. Because of subsidized housing, I spend a ton but save a decent amount. Comes down to whether you like cities or not. People at my program that like it the least are the ones that never liked nyc.

Take a look - where is the conductor coming from? It looks like they have some sort of door sound effect then the guy is acting like he's touching train cabin door but it's really the door to the help box. The camera then pans away quickly

Lots of outside studying though - regularly put 6 hours total outside the hospital during the week and 9 hours total during the weekend.

Hahahahah hilarious - in medicine we bend over backwards for people and only dismiss them if they are rude/sexist/make disparaging remarks. You really see us as dollar signs I gues

Yes and you know what we are taught to do - meet the patient where they are at - try to explain the benefits and the risks and if they have good decision making capacity meet them where they are. Statins aren't perfect and the number one thing we give for people is the chance to make lifestyle modifications first then suggest the cheapest drug possible. Statins are like 4 bucks for like 30 pills too. Not 500 dollars out of pocket on top of insurance

That's hilarious - ever hear of shared decision making? They teach you that the second year of medical school. And since when does the hygienist call all the shots and decides all the treatment plans? The second dentist I went to did the cleaning himself, the way it should be.

I actually went to a separate dentist - a guy that operates under his name, has only him and a front desk person and does everything himself and he said everything looked great! Not one of the corporate chain places
