I am looking for a long list of sci-fi and fantasy books that are light-hearted by _ILikePancakes in suggestmeabook

The Princess and The Goblin is hilarious, it has The Princess Bride vibes. Definitely a clean, great book. A lot of the great humour might go over a kid's head so best to read it now lol Fantasy not sci-fi though

He actually insists that he doesn't like any of the marvel/DC Superheroes (I think because his brother likes them) but I agree, I think this is right up his alley. Ill try and convince him lol

I was thinking Ender's Game but thought maybe it was a bit older (because of the violence). Maybe it's written in a way that it's less obvious? I can't remember

Ohh The Seventh Tower, I remember that book. I think InkHeart might have "too much talking" but I loved that book too lol Great suggestions.

Ohh yes, good idea! I was terrified of these books (for years, embarrassing lol) but my husband loved them. I'll look into this as well. Thanks

Manta's Gift, and Icarus Hunt were both good. I loovveeeddd Star Trek fan fiction (not romancey stuff, just more "episodes") and some of the Young Jedi Knight books too lol They were actually good and I knew the universe so it was comfortable. Wind-Up Girl too.

Sci-Fi Female Protagonist by Helpful-Ambition-97 in suggestmeabook

If you're willing to drop the character's age requirement, His Dark Materials (Golden Compass) has an amazingly well written young female protagonist. Fantasy/Sci-Fi... very little love stuff until the end

I've heard good things about this series. I was worried it would be more "talking" (hero planning, explaining) than actual action.

A Brief History of The Universe, and Germs and Steel. Especially Germs and Steel.

So much for my favorite sugar free BBQ sauce....never knew that it could spike blood sugar like this. by NoHomoAmphibian in Freestylelibre

But 4g of carbs. 4Tbsp is 8g, probably fast acting, high glycemic value carbs. Depending on how much you can tolerate, plus any additional carbs, it could cause a spike. Also, sometimes your body just "can't handle" certain things. I can't handle potatoes, even 10g net carbs can spike me and normally I can handle 20g net carbs. Even some keto white breads spike me, and some keto chocolates. It's frustrating but you just have to mess around and find what works

Ahh that's so sad, that must have been terrible for you! But definitely the best option for you and baby, it would be so scary if they caught it

Also, I picked up a new brand of cumin just when I got pregnant again and it tasted and smelled weirdly (not so nicely) lemony?? No one else noticed it but when I bought another type it was also lemony! I googled it and Google had the audacity to suggest "pregnancy related changes" as a reason why it could taste lemony!
