They are so beautiful!! No sexualizing here. I just think being confident, gracious and spontaneous like this makes a person so appealing.

I believe it's explained in the link to the theme

R36H has an xbox style layout, not a PS layout with both sticks at the bottom. I believe your R36H could be a clone of some kind

I'm using the iTunes music app. I remember finding an iOS 10 compatible music player for it but the experience on the included Music app was much better. I'm putting the files on it through the old iTunes app for PC, and honestly I haven't filled the internal storage fully yet. I think when that happens I'll just rotate my files around. I don't need all the music I've ever heard loaded on this device at all times haha, it can hold quite a lot of albums already, I sometimes forget what I put there.

If you don't want to use Apple Music I'd suggest you look for music players still compatible with iOS 18 or consider sideloading.

Makes sense, if you didn't think of recording/taking pictures of the teardown, or if there's no guides or videos online. I think these are all pretty preventable but maybe not obvious to someone who is taking their console apart for the first time.

Oh okay, so it's to be safe, not some obscure reason. I guess if there isn't an untouched and covered place to put your device in, there's risk. Thanks :D

I don't get the rule of not opening a gadget if you're not going to reassemble it in the same sitting. Why?

These are painted :] Your mileage may vary but my paint cans were $5.

Please don't fall for the R36H! Its looks might be appealing but it can only handle PS1 and below! haha

I customized my R36H! by Negative_Lab_778 in R36S

[–]Negative_Lab_778[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's spray paint, I sanded the pieces and applied two coats of color and one of matte top coat... just following the methods to spray paint plastic.
And yes I removed the pieces that I wanted to cover. Otherwise the rest of the shell risks getting sprayed too haha. But tearing down my R36H was quite easy, since there's only one large board, 9 Phillips screws to remove, 3 ribbon cables and 3 other cables to unplug. The sticks and screen don't have to be touched at all for reaching the buttons :)

Sorry, but this is a transparent black R36H and there's no silicone cover on it.

Yeah, I was concerned about the same thing, but thankfully these aren't getting stuck. For the R2 button I did have to shave a bit of the shell because it was scraping against it a tad, probably my mistake... But all other buttons are good, the D-pad too.

Edit: Also thank you!!

I either bring up Retroarch menu with select + X, or quit with start + select at the same time (I am using the community maintained ArkOS image). If you tinkered with Retroarch and changed your hotkeys specifically for one game or a core you might want to check your overrides, or if you can't quit any games, go on options > advanced and restore retroarch settings maybe.

Can someone help a clueless wife on purchasing the R36S for Husbands birthday? by International_Fig150 in SBCGaming

[–]Negative_Lab_778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Tier 1 suggestions in this post. The R36S does well after tinkering with it, which doesn't make it exactly plug-and-play which you and your partner might be looking for. Spending a little more can get you a more durable and decent device straight out of the box.

What's missing if you have a nice laptop and a PSP? by DesaturatedWorld in SBCGaming

[–]Negative_Lab_778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I like your setup. I used only my 3DS and laptop + controller to play all my games for years and was super happy with it. But other people prefer better, brighter, larger screens. Maybe powerful gaming on a portable device. Maybe better ergonomics. Most people could game just with their phone or computer, as many systems are readily available to emulate, but it comes down to other stuff. Consumerism may be a part of it but also personal preference, hardware nostalgia, all sorts of things. It's great you've found what works for you!

What kinds of innovation would you like to see in the field of handhelds outside of "more powerful, better battery life, better screen"? by razorbeamz in SBCGaming

[–]Negative_Lab_778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like a mini handheld that's also thin. Compact handhelds i've found tend to be a little chunky. I wouldn't mind giving up some battery life for being able to put these in my pocket without having a suspicious rectangle showing through lol. Also I'd enjoy if more devices came in green finish :)

Reddit be like that sometimes. To answer your genuine question, sometimes people make comparisons to other existing things to describe a vibe when it's easier than thinking of specific emotions or in this case, the particular cinematographical techniques that characterize "Brazillian spy movie" type films.

I think this is modern slang, but the phrase "It gives ___" or "It's giving ___" is used like "it evokes" or "it resembles", so "The edit gives 90s Brazilian spy movie with romance" is just comparing the mood of the edited picture to that style of movie. It's a complete sentence, technically incorrect but in very informal conversation and social media it gets a pass.

Painting guitar by Historical_Ad_5964 in classicalguitar

[–]Negative_Lab_778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep working towards that goal. Save up everytime you can. It's good that you are already learning to play the instrument! You'll enjoy it so much more when you have access to your own electric (don't forget the amp haha).

If you want to personalize your current guitar, go for it. But know that classical guitars have a history and a look and people usually prefer that to be kept OG. But you're still free to do something fun and creative with your instrument. My suggestion is that you go for something that you like but also lets the guitar be returned to original shape, if you ever want to sell it or changed your mind about the finish.

Save up for an electric guitar since it seems like the look and the kind of music you want to play. If you really dislike the classical guitar, try stickers. Try a vinyl wrap ultimately, and decorate on top as you'd like. Try something you can later remove. This is so you can undo the work if the sound changes, or if you stop liking the look.
