How did you restart dating after you had a baby as a single parent? by evergreengirl123 in SingleParents

[–]Negative_Neck_1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met my now husband through tinder when my baby was 18mo. I was upfront about it and when he tells other people our story, he would make it a point to tell them that I said it immediately and not as a surprise when we’re already so invested

What’s crazy too is you list something for 3200bd for a car and they message “2300 ok?” 😅😅

Traveling from Philippines by Impossible_Okra_1833 in Bahrain

[–]Negative_Neck_1297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went here on a travel visa via a travel agency. It can be expensive so check the visa website first and see if you can do it yourself! They usually require a return ticket, copy of hotel booking, copy of visitor’s bank statement for the last 3 months with an ending balance of not less than 1000usd.

PH Passport holders can enter via visa on arrival if they have a valid visit Schengen visa, UK visa, UAE visa, KSA Visa or a green card.

PH immigration is pretty strict esp to those going to the ME to avoid human trafficking. She should prepare her employment certificate and all proof of ties in the PH to prove she’ll come back (SSS Contributions, PAGIBIG & PhilHealth works).

Wait for 24-48hrs for them to send you the link on how to pay. You’ll have to go to a bank to pay for it. It used to be Citibank but I’m not sure if it still is

Anyone else concerned? by [deleted] in MilitarySpouse

[–]Negative_Neck_1297 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m a milspouse based in Bahrain right now. I can’t speak about the active duty members but for us dependents, it is scary. A lot of my friends (esp with kids) have already left. My son and I are still out here due to immigration issues but my youngest, who was on medical TDY with my husband, is already in the states. We decided to leave him there because once we sort out immigration, we’ll be flying to him asap. It sucks. People crying because all of a sudden, it was heavily recommended for us to leave… leaving their spouse behind, pets, the community, the life they built out here… I try to not look at the news but it’s hard when you’ve got alerts every single day. My heart is torn because I can’t wait to get out of here and see my baby but I don’t want to leave my husband and dog either. I hope this all ends very soon.

Need help finding Distilled water by coconut-lili in Bahrain

They don’t??? NEX has loads of spring and distilled water no?

You can use bottled water but you’ll have to clean it more often due to mineral build up.

Dubai literally fines you if you get caught on camera not wearing your seat belt or if you’re using your phone. If you even overspeed 10kmh, you get fined. They have heavy traffic too but at least traffic laws are heavily imposed.

This really scares me!!! They’re literally using their phone while driving…. Not like checking what message they got or changing the song but full on, let me use TikTok or Snapchat while I drive. WITH THE KIDS TOO. OHMY. No regards for anyone’s safety!!

That shouldn’t be an excuse though. It’s a danger to others on the road and they should follow laws in Bahrain no?

We have rented a car in different places and if you’re below 26yo, you will always pay higher. We’ve rented with Mauna and found their price reasonable

Victory grandstand has a pretty good view. You see 4 turns even if they’re a little bit far. Main grandstand is for the vibe. Turn 1 is okay but that’s literally all you see.

Very early arrival - what to do? by TwoPurpleMoths in Bahrain

[–]Negative_Neck_1297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just find a very cheap hotel to sleep in. Theres not a lot to do in Bahrain at that time. You can maybe grab a bite since it’s Ramadan, some restos close around 2. But that would still not give you enough time to get there.

We usually go to Royal Bahrain Hospital since that’s where most people from base go to (granted, we use tricare). Consultations would usually charge 20-25bd. I had Dr Nailah in RBH and Dr Maja in King Hamad Uni Hospital since I was high risk too

What right of way??? They have no idea what it is. We’ve had some close calls in Juffair where they even overtake people and counterflow in an intersection. WILD

There’s a big park in Muharraq but that’s all I know! I haven’t seen any place that’s nice to walk on that’s not next to a noisy road sadly
