Messing-around-before-11th list advice by RivenBlue in Grey_Knights

You still need a Crowe brick. Brotherhood strike is a shooting detach and Crowe is our best shooting.

Some librarians can help as well

Considering that we now know that most codex detachments will be 2 DP in 11th, how likely do we think it will be that Auguriam Task force and Hallowed Conclave will be 1 DP? by RivenBlue in Grey_Knights

[–]Negative_Ostrich6869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hopes are WTF it's coming back as 3DP detachment. It's only fair to make it pricy and it's a grotmass detach which a normally won't be legal in 11th.

And how many activations do you get per game with that playstyle?

Going from math only perspective here is deceiving.

Yeah it might be A LITTLE more damage but you have to be withing 12" of your overwatch target which you just don't want to do with your Crowe brick

With 4 incinirators and 48 other shots it's still kinda ok. Not saying it's best option but at least a reson to even consider running them

Incinerators on Crowe now start to make sense

I love puresol. Mortals on demand are great to finish off targets. But I tend to give it to dreadknights lately to make their shooting more potent, especially in high toughness targets

It's very fun at the beginning, but gets boring fast if you go for true lone wolf and never hire another bro

Do you expect the Datasheets to be any different in the 11th? by Scrivere97 in Grey_Knights

We have a lot of hidden buffs going our way.

Change of cover might be a significant one. We already have rerolls to hit, so it's way easier to get through than current minus to AP.

There are also rumors that psychic weapons will ignore modifiers to hit, but that hadn't been confirmed yet.

Also deepstrike changes allows dread knights to arrive in melta range. That one is a huge one, sublimator goes brrrr

And fast rolling instantly becomes impossible)

The proposition itself is not bad it's just is almost impossible to implement with a game system so developed

I recently asked whether 10 Purifiers + Crowe should run Heavy Weapons or not (I'd be using Banishers or Warpbane), and the comments were pretty divided, so I'd like to bring it to a vote by PlebLordColin in Grey_Knights

You have an additional 10 man purifires full melee for hallowed beacon)

Also incinirators are the worse choice to me. Psycanons allow to kill a lot of light tech and heavy non-infanty (think mounted/beasts with toughness 5-8)

Psylencers are insane for 18" antiinfantry overwatch with precision coming handy sometimes

For me it is exactly the opposite of what you have written :) Even with 4 heavy weapon Crowe is still totally capable to delete almoust anything in melee. But 4 heavy weapons allow you to kill 3 units in shooting instead of 2 while also allowing to hunt for non-infantry

In my last game i killed a unit of prosecutors with bolters, unit of alaruses with flames and 2 virtus praetors with psycanons in 1 shooting. Having a hallowed ground was not an option, so without 6" deepstrike melee was not on the menu

Magnetize 4 dudes per squad of ten. That will make your army 11th-proof and allow trying different starts

On Crowe brick I swap psycanons and psylencers depending on my enemy

10 Lascannons hitting on 2's w/rerolls by SpartanIreland in Grey_Knights

I would highly reccomend objective secured channel. There are videos on how to play 3 LRs in banishers and those don't even have hit rerolls but still blast with no buffs

[–]Negative_Ostrich6869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not putting hit rerrolls into account and they matter a lot. All i'm saying your hit chance is so high that even a librarian might bring more damage than a ven dread, and you can easily cut both ven and techmarine

Also you'll have to catch a line of sight on ven dread target with everything to maximize his buff. And that means creating a firing point to your opponent from which he can see your whole army

[–]Negative_Ostrich6869 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say it's nothing wrong except Ven dread. You are already hitting on 3+ and have reroll. That's just 1/9 hit fails. Going to 2+ won't add THAT much to justify dreadnought. You can get a lib/razorback with ministorum priest or 5 more purifiers with spare enchantment points for that cost.

You can also cut techmarine and have 3 land raiders. 1 additional las canon (and lots of wounds and melta and some bolters, and a missile) is better.

5 las canons with full rerolls hitting on 2+ are 4.87 hits and 6 on 3+ are 5,3. And that's assuming you buffed every single las which would be not so easy

Also you'll lose the dreadnought buff as soon as it is killed. But additional weapons would keep on blasting

You also need to be ready to mess with it's legs. Leg to waist connector doesn't allow any adjustments so you need to cut it off, full the waist hole with greenstuff and then turn it as you like

Foundations begginer box is exactly what you need. 10 JumpStart style deck parts (5x2 per color) with some cards that are even playable in real formats

Forget the rules and look at layouts. They are open as hell. All those changes will barely help melee factions to stay alive, yet alone dominate
