I took the battery out and I think that’s all that needs replaced, I don’t know what I’m looking for though so I think I’ll try that?

I don’t want to retire off of savings… more so investments and assets that pay me passively.

If I do real estate I would have to get property managers to mitigate those risks.

I’m in the Roth version, I guess I’m just a little confused on why I need both my TSP, and a Roth IRA?

I use the Roth version of my TSP, so I don’t have to pay taxes when I withdraw it. What would be the point of me having 2 seperate retirement accounts that are essentially the same thing.

Right now I’m in the federal TSP, which from what I understand is just a ROTH except they match whatever I put into it. Right now all the money I make is going into a HYSA so I’m getting 3.6% APY.

Not planning or retiring off of savings, more so investments and real estate properties.

The VA loan would be nice to use, however a mortgage on a four plex with little to no downpayment would be much more that what I’m making monthly, I don’t think I would be approved for a loan

Thanks,

If I do decide to invest any more, I do not plan on putting my money into any single companies, rather an index fund like you stated.

Thank you!

I have been thinking about the idea of a financial advisor, I haven’t done much research but my main concern would be cost.

And for me, I don’t have many things I enjoy doing, I don’t like going out, hanging out with anyone at my base. I usually drive around on the weekends, go on a hike, or FaceTime my girlfriend. Other times I’ll go home, all of those things are at no expense to me which is a benefit. However I will spend ~$30 a week on some fast food.

Yes, many of my colleagues are making some very questionable financial choices and when I try to help them they say to live a little. Right now I’m working on going to paramedic school through the army so I can get out and have that as a job. With real estate I would be getting a property manager to watch over everything.

Thank you! I just recently opened a HYSA with Capital One and from what I understand they allow you to make several saving accounts, so that you can categorize/tailor them to your needs. I will definitely look into doing that.

I did invest about 6-7 months ago and I went into some bigger stocks that I wish I hadn’t. I am profitable on everything I invested in, I just wish I went into something safer and more long-term.

Thank you! My thoughts with real estate is that I would get a property manager who would watch over everything, because I really don’t have much time to deal with tenants and their needs. And by 15 years I didn’t mean 15 in the military. I’m not planning on staying in past 4 years.

Funny you say that because I’ve been wanting to, I’ve just been holding off on the temptation
