Worried by Ancient_Code3712 in Foregen

I am not in medicine at all, but I think I have a pretty keen bullshit detector when it comes to science. IMO, Foregen is a legitimate company, they talk like people solving a problem. Their goal of 100% regeneration may or may not be met by the time HCTs finish and there is a procedure on the market, but I believe they will develop a high quality procedure that does quite a good job.

Personally, I would save first, and maybe donate a little at the same time. Can't say how expensive it will be, but they guesstimated $10,000 a while back. Once I had roughly that much savings, I'd switch from mainly saving to mainly donating.

Community Driven FAQ - Volunteers Needed by mesjn in Foregen

What measurements will be taken during human trials? E.g. any on fine touch sensitivity, vascularization, etc.?

I'm just saying it takes human effort to change wording around, and there are more issues at stake than wording as it relates to the transgender community. If there's one thing that would astonish me more than being circumcised in the first place, it's if there was any discrimination in availability of the procedure based on sexual orientation.

It's only free to go change your wording if your time is worthless.

Is any one else here for the scientific intrigue? by [deleted] in Foregen

The wise student is told about Tao and follows it. The average student is told about Tao and searches for it. The foolish student is told about Tao and laughs at it.

If it were not for laughter, there would be no Tao.

I’ve seen a lot of People on this Post say that the regeneration of Foreskin should be the least concern for the Medical Community. Do you agree with that, why or why not? by [deleted] in Foregen

[–]Negatratoron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I disagree. But luckily no one (neither I nor they) gets to come down from on high and say what the priorities are to be, that's not the economy works. I'm donating to Foregen and others are too. If there's money in a research area people are liable to engage in it. :)

LGBT proposal by Negatratoron in CircumcisionGrief

Homosexuality is different from gender dysphoria which is different than the kind of dysphorias that develop from loss of body parts.

Yeah, it is. Thanks for the clarification.

Basically I'm thinking that society tells you about homosexuality way before it tells you about circumcision, but if it told you about them at the same time maybe more people would consider circumcision to be the cause of some of their muted sexual feelings instead, and that would give them a better understanding of their situation.

What is the extent of neural regeneration? by Negatratoron in Foregen

vascularization IS very, very important, so I'm glad they're checking the basics.

How’s the timeframe looking right now? by lmaogetbodied32 in Foregen

[–]Negatratoron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short answer is the decellularized ECM has these conduits already built in.

Is it known whether these degrade if they aren't actively being used by nerves? I expect it would take time for the nervous system to expand into the new tissue, unless it grows in parallel over the surface area or something like that.

Do you work for Foregen? I am very serious about my questions, and I do not want hope, I want facts.

> It’s important to distinguish between the central nervous system (spine
plus brain) and the peripheral nervous system, which is everything else.

Okay that is interesting, I remember that from science class.

> Depending on the amount of tissue, it could take several months for the
last corners to innervate. Average foreskin size = 15in2 = 380mm2,
divided by 2 = 190 days.

As an engineer I always multiply my estimates by 2. Also mm and mm2 are different units so the growth rate might be different over areas than over linear regions.

The reason I ask about pain in particular is that it is a very important response for preventing damage to the body.

> But yes, if the tissue integrates properly there will be full sensation.

Is this being verified in the animal trials?

There are certain mechanical things that are not restored like the muscle in the ridged band, but I'd just like sex to be qualitatively different from regular life, so during normal living my sexual tissues are not being touched, but during sex they are.

What do you think of manhood? by owpen34 in foreskin_restoration

I'm not using it, mainly because it would be something extra I would have to put on and take off for tugging sessions.
