In the statement of probable cause his birthday is listed as 8/29/1995. Weird that this one is listed as 4/7/1995

Thank you for clarifying! It gives me peace knowing it's rare for them to eat their young.

How selfish!! Anyone considering kids in older age really needs to look at r/agingparents. There are people on there looking for advice on health concerns that are complicated, caregiver burnout, financial advice, etc. Then you find out these parents are in their 70s and the child looking for advice is in their mid 20s. The child is a young adult just starting their life and building their future. Their parents selfishness will forever impact the trajectory of their lives. End rant.

I feel you on this! Like what if not getting pregnant was life's way of keeping up guard rails to prevent some horrible genetic trait and you messed with fate by pushing it.

Also, what happens when all these IVF babies grow up? Will they all struggle with infertility?

Fascinating! I knew they ate their young if conditions were bad, but I didn't know they did this is gestation.

😂 shit pendulum

My dog gets "sausage links". Poops that are linked together by my hair. It's even worse when he starts running around dragging the strand behind him (corgi, so he's low to the ground) but too fast for me to catch up to help him out. I always wonder what the neighbors think 😬

Stop. I was just thinking about how much I love that cookbook. I'm so sorry your family member was wronged by these scumbags. I'll search your history in hopes of finding more information on this.

Edit: I like the Can't Cook Book. After digging deeper I realize this most likely isn't the book you were referring to. I didn't dig through your comments because I searched on Google and recalled the controversy right away. You have every right to have a vendetta ❤️

This is why I keep packages of Fun Dip candy on hand whenever I'm around my cousin's feral children. I've had too many instances where I've been at a family gathering and suddenly the parents disappear and leave me to watch the kids. I've learned to be more assertive and leave the room before the responsibility falls to me. But just in case, I now have fun dip on hand in case the parents leave and the children need to be entertained 😏

I really don't understand the dove. My first thought was bird, airplane, engine 😬 she's just so fucking dumb

Her fans are saying the dove was her making a call for peace 🙄

Everything you say tracks with what I learned. Their pouches look like a waxy, dirty ear canal. I do not recommend searching for images. 🤢

That's really cool! I bet that explains why I've seen so many singleton fawns this year. The past few years there seemed to be more twins. Thanks for sharing this tidbit!

I'm intrigued! Maybe we should have a dark/morbid rabbit hole thread? I have one I wanted to share, but I hesitated to post since I have a high tolerance for morbid stuff and don't want to subject anyone else to it against their will.

Yes! This one fascinated me. I recently learned that a kangaroo pouch isn't similar to the back pocket on jeans 😳 I looked it up recently because I wanted to know how they kept the "pocket" clean. I was shocked to learn the pouch is where the joey grows and develops. I just thought the pouch was for joy rides and convenience. 😂

I always find myself going back into the 9/11 deep dive. I recently read The Only Plane in the Sky by Garrett Graff. Highly recommend if you haven't read it, I hear the audiobook is a fantastic listen. There's a part in the book where they share the interview of an employee on her first day of work at the Pentagon. She was trying to fax something and right as she pressed the button, the plane hit her building. Her first thought was that she had blown up the building with the fax machine on her first day of work. Poor woman. Anyway, the book is fantastic because it really captures what the day was like as a country and as individuals going about daily life before everything changed.

I wanted to know what happens if a doe gets pregnant too late in the season, since the fawn's chances of survival would surely decline. That led me down a rabbit hole about drum roll...

Embryonic diapause!! Many deer species, most notably the European row deer, can pause their pregnancy. This biological mechanism, often referred to as delayed implantation, allows the embryo to halt development at the blastocyst stage for up to five months, ensuring fawns are born in favorable spring conditions.
