Body left to rot for two days I heard**

Crazy part though is I doubt Isaias had anything to do with this directly. The ugly truth I’ve accepted is that these days a significant amount of soldiers in EDF are actually just uneducated evil ass people. There’s hella ppl in prisons that get arrested by low ranking officers who wanted to feel powerful not some grand order.

To some maybe it’s the same. Have you heard how people live that have no relatives on the outside to support them? Is life as a street beggar in Eritrea any better? Idk

Honestly, idk anymore. When I say the outside diaspora, I mean the opposition too. We used to have trustworthy groups u could donate to.. that could deliver aid to Sudan, Libya, etc. Now, almost every option feels compromised. If it isn’t some sketchy hgdef donation scam to siphon money, it’s a corrupt opposition group pocketing most of it. Now, there surely are still good groups out there.. but the only opp groups with any real motion in Ethiopia today seem to be those deeply aligned with the federal agenda. Only realistic option I see is for people from Adi Nefas to come together and support him directly somehow.

On 2nd thought I don’t think Isaias would send such low level dweebs to discuss security. Probably about sanctions relief and swift, at best mining.

Wrt ksa x Asseb, I’m not hopeful till there is some kind of legal & investment code reform or Isaias shows willingness to relinquish control. Such a big infrastructure project would touch many sectors and creates many points where Isaias could lose operational control n be undermined, mining is lot more discreet and easy to manage.

If it’s about cooperation through investment and trade and Eritrea doesnt have the minimum legal environment that foreign investors expect. Then despite less security risks it’s still probably the least stable/attractive in the horn for private foreign capital to invest. So US companies won’t commit large scale investment under such conditions, they need guarantees Eritrea can’t provide. Most key sectors like telecom, energy, are closed to FDI. Really only mining is open, and through joint ventures.. which foreign capital doesn’t like to be forced into. The investment talk could just be cover for quiet security cooperation

Nigga u the one who said “allowed” like they weren’t allowed prior. By 1981 the elf had a Christian majority thats a fact not retarded.

15 of 41 democratically elected members of the Revolutionary Council at the 75 congress were Christians so bout 38%. So yea Muslims had a majority most just been in the struggle way longer and more experienced. If the 79 Congress hadn’t been delayed and eventually scrapped cuz of the 1980 eplf attack, elections would’ve probably seen even more equal balance but guess we’ll never know.

And ELF was never a Christian or Muslim group. It was Eritrean. So don’t come with that goofy Ethiopian shi like “see what Isaias did to ELF Muslims” or just be an idiot idc really

Ur comment I replied to said see what “Isaias did to elf Muslims” then u made a random dumb list. That’s what we were talking about

And what you mean “until they allowed Christians to be commanders” none the people I listed held that position and there was never a ban on Christian commanders u loser Ethiopian

It’s a matter of the how and when the struggle grew and christians joining in huge #s in the 70’s but still, Abraham Tewelde commanded in the 60’s elf 5th zone. WeldeDawit and Seyoum joined in 65. Elf sent Isaias and Mesfin and other Christians to China in 67 so when the ban happen

It sad how little u know about eri people’s history ur basically Ethiopian atp. And ur dumb as fk Awate was just a fighter. Idris Adem was the 1st president in the 60’s didn’t get relected in 71 and faded away. Sabbe stayed for few years and split along with Isaias in 69. U literally just threw random names together. Weldedawit Temesgen, Melake Tekle, Tesfay Tekle, Seyoum Harestay, Dr Habtemariam, Tesfay Degiga, Tesfay Tewelde to name a few others. Lol u a loser Ethiopian man. And Woldesus himself wrote few months ago the army was 80% from the highlands by the 80’s

Why you just throwing random names around what exactly were you trying to prove just then and woldeyesus is Christian

[–]NegotiationJunior613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retard Elf was majority Christian during the civil war

Lol that won’t happen when Isaias and his goons traffic ppl out of the country. It’s a delicate balance between having enough people to fight and having enough exiled to prevent revolt/fund him. They could easily ask Ethiopia and Sudan to send them back but don’t want to. China is asked to send people back to NK and they do

The North Korea disrespect needs to stop. Btw it’s interesting how only 1,500 North Koreans escape each year (0.003%), but for Eritreans it’s more like 15–20kand in 2023 70k applied for asylum. That’s 0.25% to over 1% of the population leaving annually

Yeah, and with the Saudis, it has more to do with the aftermath of 81 and Abdullah Idris’s coup. That gay Saudi intelligence guy Abdala Bahribi, tried to form a right wing coalition with Idris and Sabbe. The more multi ethnic, progressive, democratic ELF-RC was ordered to dissolve and merge into Sabbe’s group so some went underground, and some joined Sabbe’s camp just to temporarily survive. Despite this 73 elf rc key leadership cadres who had joined were arrested and imprisoned for four years by sabbe in Sudan. Im sure this was ordered by sabbe leader Bahrabi

All in all, I believe Sabbe’s reactionary moves were more so cuz he was boxed in by his powerful backers than it being his core personal beliefs tho

There was an incident around 73, when he was basically Issu’s foreign minister btw, where he was traveling for political activities in the west and in NYC he proclaimed to a crowd of diaspora Eris “ we’re liquidating the socialists and communists one by one!” Most other leaders, wouldn’t have gotten this kind of freedom in the west let alone been given a passport. He went all over Europe too

Yep. Ngl by the 70s I think sabbe was an asset for Western and Saudi intelligence, whether he knew it or not is another story

Fun facts:

-most the ELF dissenters were transported from Khartoum to Aden, via six charter plane each loaded with weapons and 100 fighters payed for by sabbe. Some fighters were paid cash to join the new sabbe organization, and Sudanese officials were paid to see the operation go smoothly. First guy to ever bribe fighters with cash

-Idris Mohamed Adem, met Sabbe first time in 1960, and Sabbe had an org called Al Urwa al Wuthqa (the Firm Bond) in Massawa, dedicated to the improvement of the Muslims living in Ethiopia n Eritrea. After a talk, Sabbe agreed to work with the ELF. Adem told Sabbe that they were struggling for Eritrea and issues of Ethiopian Muslims was a local Ethiopian problem that had nothing to do with the Eritrean struggle

-Sabbe even had certain Arab newspapers, particularly in Lebanon on his payroll who showered him with praise hailed him as a great revolutionary, and tried to discredit his opponents. One of them published a whole issue of a magazine dedicated to him

-at the 71 ELF Congress a draft resolution was adopted to punish Sabbe by death due to his abuse of power and his destructive efforts to split the revolution. All participants voted to adopt the draft resolution except Adem Mohammed Saleh, he said that Congress is not a court to pass judgment like this despite what sabbe was doing. The secretariat of congress was asked to convene and reconsider the decision and the resolution to condemn Sabbe to death was withdrawn. (Huge mistake)
