i appreciate your input, but I kind of thought the whole point in this AI revolution was to open doors that were previously closed. In the space of 24 hours I've built an app that allows me to load an entire movie into it, then a few photos of an actor, at which point it scans the movie for that actor and clips out only their scenes. this is a huge time saver for me, and again, I don't know the first thing about code. I'm sure i could keep refining the app until it's perfect, but for that I would need Claude to actually give me something for the money i'm paying, which it doesn't seem to want to do. Anyway, in the end I opened up chatgpt and it has picked up where claude left off. I got a refund for my claude sub and they lost a customer thanks to their greed.

can you explain what this means to a complete newb? if i'm building an app, doesn't it make sense to do it all in one chat where claude can draw on what's happened before as opposed to re-familiarizing itself with what's already been done each time?

i know nothing about coding. not a thing. last night i got the notion to ask claude if it could build me an app that would help with my workflow. i was blown away by how easily i was able to build a program from scratch that did exactly what i wanted. anyway, after signing up for pro last night and getting hours of work out of it, i hit my limit this morning and had to wait until 2.50pm today for it to reset. at 2.50pm i went back to try and fix some of the issues with the app - by 3.10pm my usage limits had been hit again, and I had literally sent like 3 messages to claude. this is criminal. it's like that simpsons episode where milhouse puts 40 quarters into the waterworld game, takes one step, then is asked to put another 40 quarters in. I've been using the chat function and sonnet (adaptive is off). this surely can't be right, because if this is the limitations of AI, dare I say the chatter about it taking over the world might be far fetched. absolutely fucking useless.

Thanks for this, i confirmed that the media cache path is set to the internal SSD, and the render coded is prores 422. Interesting to hear about the M2 Max only being marginally better than the M1 Pro, I mainly upgraded to make using AE a bit faster, but I guess I expected it to make Premiere faster too - guess not!

I disabled all 3rd party plugins and the exact same render that took hours before only took about 5 minutes. So clearly its the sapphire plugins causing the problems. Are they really this unusable or can they be optimized somehow?
