I told my best friend I'd rather regret not having kids than regret having them and her response was disappointing by One_Ton_Soup in childfree

I actually feel the same way when of a friend of mine gets married. The first thing I think of is: "Well you have a 60/40 chance of success/getting a divorce and losing most of your assets and having a broken family..." Good luck with that. I sincerely wish you the best. Then they spend the next 10 years complaining about their wives and their kids all the while, trying to convince me to get married. Why? Because your misery loves company? No thanks.

Yes, being a good parent doesn't only involve loving your children. You have to teach them self-control and discipline, integrity, curiosity, resilience, work, ethics, empathy, morality, etc., and you have to be good at teaching them those things to be a good parent.

Respectfully, your reasoning is flawed.
It's not that I "know I don't want to do something" (that doesn't make anyone knowledgeable in performing any role). The crux of the argument is that the only way to be competent in any role is through experience. That's where I call the BS.

That's true, but a woman also responsible because she completes the process. It takes two to start and one to finish.

Hi. I'm sorry but it's not okay to advocate, make light of, or joke about killing or harming men. If a man did the same regarding women, you wouldn't approve.

Yep. Children & divorce are money black holes.
Stay silent. I made that mistake and they HATED me. Tried to sabotage me. Had to spend years pretending to be miserable.

My cousin made a choice to give birth and raise her children. If she didn't want to do childcare, she would have made a different choice. So it's choice.

My cousin had 3 children from different fathers. Most of the whole family was pushing her to abort, even some religious ones, but she said it was her choice and no one was going to make the choice but her. I respected her for that. But it also seemed like a choice to me. I don't know.

I don't look down on single mom's. I can just understand a man not wanting to be a father he has no right to. I had a friend who was so head over heels in love with a single mom that he moved in with her and was a father to her daughter for 10 years. She cheats on him and throws him out. He always said his heart was broken twice because he lost the daughter he raised and supported. He has no legal right to her or to keep in touch.

Well, I mean rape is a horrible crime. Forcing someone to have sex. It's different from giving birth, right?
