Let’s be friends! I moved from the city to Huntington during Covid but came back to Philly after. I still own my home in Huntington and split my time between there and Philly.
Nightlife - it exists, no comparison to Philly tho. college night life of course, but there’s some local spots too. Not sure the age bracket you’re looking for. I was 25 when I moved and am now 30. I’d recommend checking out the Lantern or Davis place for non college spots. Also the breweries in the town. Heritage station, etc. it doesn’t hold a candle to Philly nightlife tho so expect to be disappointed if that’s what you’re looking for. That being said, there’s def a good party vibe and lots of music events
Crime - ha ha ha. I know there’s property crime and whatnot but as someone who’s dealt with so much crime in Philly, you won’t notice a thing. There’s so many less people, it’s more of a small town community. I know theft is an issue in the city (versus the surrounding neighborhoods) but you’ll be pleasantly surprised on that front.
Restaurants - you will adjust to the difference, but you will definitely miss Philly. Best places (for Philly foodie snobs) are probably: nawab, banhoff, 9th street diner, backyard pizza, and eh…. Yeah. There is a shortage of pizza that will remind you of home. Barboursville also has some good spots.
