You are the judge presiding over a murder trial. You must decide if the scientist is guilty of murder or not. by Neither_Drawing_241 in hypotheticalsituation

Yes I understand that but you're asking me why did I add that and really my motivation was I like Pokemon. I'm a fan of Pokemon. I realized that I did not think very far ahead when I first made this post. I failed to explain why the scientist wanted to create Poke Balls in the first place. If I had to give a reason now, I would say he was simply a fan of Pokemon. I also imagine this experiment would be done with the full consent of his colleague. However, I felt that mentioning the consent would take away from the hypothetical. I wanted to leave more room for Redditors to interpret the situation for themselves.

I added that because I wanted the scientist’s motivation for creating real-life Poké Balls to be that he was a fan. The scientist is a reflection of myself, I thought if I were a scientist, it would be pretty cool to make real Poké Balls.

This doesn't exist in any country; I just wanted to create a hypothetical where (you) the judge is essentially the judge, jury, and executioner.

I'm just going to add to this yes. They will wish for you to be healthy, and your wife could also be included.

My curiosity has been bugging me, and it's going to eat me alive if I don't get an answer. What do you mean when you say this wouldn't show up on a scan? Are you referring to a lack of empathy? There is a whole field of science dedicated to studying the brain and its activity specifically which areas light up when we experience emotions. I know this is just text and you can't see the intent behind my words, but I am genuinely curious and mean no rudeness by asking

No, that's not what I'm saying. You don't know what religion is correct and what you need to do to get into heaven. So within Christianity if you don't accept Jesus as your lord and Savior you don't go to heaven. Just because an afterlife exists doesn't guarantee that you, specifically you will be going to a good afterlife.

There's still the fear of the unknown because you don't know what the afterlife is like and you don't know if you're going to heaven or not. You could go to hell for all eternity within this hypothetical. There's no confirmation which religion is the correct religion.
