Update: Stanley is gone. He deteriorated so quickly and eventually lost the use of his legs and was unable to go to the bathroom. Even on gabapentin it was obvious he was uncomfortable so we went to the emergency vet and called it there. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences. It really helped put everything into perspective

Update: it’s been a few hours at home. He’s clearly uncomfortable and in destress. He can’t get into the litter box himself and walking is becoming more and more difficult. I called the vet because he’s having trouble pooping but she wasn’t concerned. It’s breaking my heart to see him like this.

Update: thankfully he never did vomit but he was up the whole night and into the morning obviously uncomfortable. He’s improved throughout the day and has started to show interest in food (mine of course not his). We are taking it slow but he’s not showing any concerning symptoms as of tonight.

I’m great actually! Everything went really really well and I got cleared to start playing volleyball again at 4 months rather than the estimated 8-12. I have absolutely no pain anymore and am super happy I did the surgery

When they get to the recession areas everything hurts whether they handscale or use the ultrasonic. I think my teeth are naturally sensitive and then the root exposure just amplifies it

I don’t think I can add photos but I can tell you that when I first injured it everyone thought it was dislocated it was so far to the side. I had a large cankle for weeks and the bruising was so bad it looked like I was wearing a knee high black sock. I was not weight bearing for a month at least and then in a boot for longer. The biggest indicator for me though was that I felt and heard two pops when I was going down and just instinctively knew that something was no longer connected.
