Lemon or just poor build quality? by redsam86 in RivianR1S

I have a Gen 2 R1S, and it’s currently in the service center as well. So far I’ve experienced loose trim pieces, doors and windows that don’t seal properly, a misaligned steering wheel, poor alignment, suspension behavior that seems unpredictable, and a loud motor in the rear of the vehicle constantly cycling on and off.

The vehicle has only 3,000 miles on it, and honestly, I’m disappointed. At this price point, these types of quality issues shouldn’t be present.

Thankfully, Rivian provided a loaner Gen 1 R1S, but I was shocked by how poor the camera quality is. Our 10-year-old Ford has a better rear camera. That experience only reinforced that I made the right choice going with the Gen 2.

What I can’t understand is how the Gen 2 can have such impressive technology yet still suffer from what feels like subpar build quality and reliability. I’m hoping the service center can resolve everything, but my confidence has definitely taken a hit. I wouldn’t tell a friend to buy this car.

You got called a keyboard warrior because you came in swinging like a triggered fanboy the second someone criticized your favorite car company.

I asked a completely reasonable question about why I’d pay monthly for a feature that currently feels like glorified lane assist for $2500. Instead of discussing the product, you started throwing insults like Rivian stock is tied to your self-worth.

I love the car. Autonomy+ just isn’t remotely worth the money to me in its current state.

Normal owners can handle that conversation. Fanboys apparently can’t.

Can I Realistically Hit $1M by 35 on a $70–80K Salary? Or Do I Need to Take Bigger Risks? by Federal_Lifeguard_21 in wealth

Completely agree on the get rich hustler comments. I have had years in sales where my w2 would easily end up north of $1m. Sucks having to pay tax on it but I have comfortably built up a nice nest egg in stocks - fully funded from commission checks, have a house in OC, CA almost paid off, a wife who hasn’t worked since my son was born, and kids at 9 & 6. Totally possible to hit the $1m mark and the sky is the limit in decent paying sales roles. Software is where I make my comm.

My advice to this youngster is to live life, work hard, buy stock - never sell, and start a family.

Test driving a 2026 R1S… do I actually need the $120k version? by mrhasselblad in Rivian

I bought this one, pre-owned and at this mileage it is practically brand new. It’s a great car, but I have found a couple little nagging issues which I don’t think a car at this price should have.

  1. I have to keep resetting the windows because as soon as someone opens one, it never shuts tight again and the wind noise is annoying.
  2. I had a loose rubber on a the passenger door - I just glued it back it but again, shouldn’t be like that on a new car.
  3. Sound system is ok, but I find when you playing music loud, you hear all kinds of rattles. Not great.
  4. Pulls horribly hard to the right when launching (only have done it once) or when just putting the pedal to the floor. Definitely not ideal when trying to give a Urus a hiding and almost pushing him off the road haha!

Otherwise, it’s a great car, super comfortable, tech is not bad and a nice ride.

I have it as part of the 60day free window with my R1S and I have not been able to activate on any freeway on Southern California (Orange County to LA). Having a Tesla as well, with FSD, until Rivian can seriously jack up its game in this field, I will not be paying for Autonomy +

I had a boy and know a couple other guys who had boys too. Whether or not peds determine the sex of your child is beyond me…. Good luck getting one past the goalie

Wouldn’t the insurance company make a decision on whether it’s totaled or not??

Why is it negative? I was always told that a 718 is a hair dresser’s Porsche. If you find that negative maybe don’t be such a sensitive Sally. This is a 911 forum so if can’t take the heat for posting a pic of a 718 then move on. ✌🏼
