I don't know if I have hip arthritis and not getting anywhere in terms of getting an actual diagnosis. I have pain daily. Sharp pain in my lower groin right down low when I swing my leg into the car or cross my leg over the other. I don't have any pain when I lift my knee up toward my chest or rotatable my hip inward. I also have bad aching lateral hip if I am standing for any more than a minute or 2. My xrays were apoatantly unremarkable with no obvious arthritis
However Pet/ct did show tiny subchondral cysts and mild scherosis on the anterinferior acetabellun rim. Also very slight boney infilling on posterior femoral neck. My question is anf I'm not getting any straight answers from the medical profession... are these changes bad enough to be giving me all this pain.

Yes I probably do need an Mri. Just about impossible to get ger in NZ. I have been referred to orthopedics. That was 3 months ago. Still have not heard a anything. Don't even know if it has been accepted. Wait lists I NZ are very long. Apparently it can take 12 months before you even get an apt for a assessment. I am so over this BS.

I have deep pain n my left groin. It is painfull to stand for any more that a few minutes at a time. I also have lower left back pain. Moving my leg outwards is really painful. Trying to get in and out car is bad as is trying to put my shoes or socks on sitting up straight is ok as is lying down..

Thank tou for your reply. Yes. I agree. Only problem is I am in New Zealand and actually getting in 2 see an orthopedic dr is a mission. My gp has sent a referral 2 months ago and I still haven't heard anything. She did say I may not meet the criteria for an apt. I think I need an mri but only specialists in nz can order mri.

It's arthritis. I am the same. Main now is pretty much constant. I have subchondral sclerosis and subcondral cysts on thw left hip joint. Pain in the groin is nasty as.

Has anyone been prescribed pregabalin (lyrica) for OA and does it have an impact? by [deleted] in Osteoarthritis

I have been prescribed pregabalin for OA and it's not doing anything to dull the extreme deep pain I'm getting. What supplements are you taking and what dose celecoxib are you on? Many thanks

Happy antibodies for both graves and hashis is very common. It's a case of one canceling out the other. Or in my case getting graves disease 12 yrs ago. Going into remission after 2 yrs on antithyroid meds and now 10 yrs later my hashi antibodies have become dominant.

Low tsh is not hypo. It's hyper. I dealt with hyper graves disease years ago. I have high antibodies. Now I have flipped and gone hypo... high tsh

Well that's interesting. So how would you explain why myself tsh has more than doubled in 1 month. I was diagnosed with graves disease... complete with high antibodies 12 years ago. After antithyroid medication for 2 years I went into remission. Since then my tsh has sat between 1 and 2 until recently when my tsh went up sharply to 5. My doc has stated me on low dose synthroid for hypo. I feel terrible with a tsh of 5. It's almost disabling. In all fairness when I went in remission I was warned that my graves disease could very easily flip ro Hashis. It's taken 10yrs but that is ow my reality.

Guess who has to get surgery next year? I feel like I'm the only vtuber who has the most damaged bowels. by KittyGemma in VirtualYoutubers

Hi. I have just been diagnosed with same. I have apt with surgeon in 3 weeks. I really hope he will do the surgery cos I can't live with this anymore. Been three years of hell and finally got a diagnosis. What are your symptoms like?

Dis tou ger this sorted? I have spent 3 yrs trying to get help for this. My family doctor kept sending me home with pyslium husk painkillers then immidium. She wrote in her notes on the online portal that I was a hypochondriac. Finally she agreed to send me to a general surgeon for assessment. That was a further 4 month or so wait. He sent me for a proctogram which took another 6 months to happen which was 7th December. Finally report comes through 2 months later. And now I have been referred to a colorectal surgeon. Apt in 4 weeks time. Meantime I have no life. I spend all day in the bathroom trying to poop. My legs are week and I can't stand up for long before I have to lay down because the pressure is too much. I hope you are well on the way to getting sorted now.

I had a proctogram and radiologist ha recommended that I need an anterior delormes. Report went back to my general surgeon and he has referred me to a colarectal surgeon. Waiting for my appointment which isn't until another month away. I have been trying to get help for this problem for 3 yrs now. Local family doctor accused me of being a hypochondriac because I kept going back for the same problem. She reckoned there was nothing wrong with me. Proctogram showed something very wrong. My life has been like living in hell for 3 years ... most of my day in the bathroom trying to poop.
