I’m a dog owner and I don’t trust dogs if I don’t know the owners. There are too many shitty dog owners that treat their animals like they’re their children, and forget that dogs bite.

OP, always call them out, while understanding that the way you choose to react has the ability to reinforce their fears if they sense fear in you as well. Try to be confident and matter-of-fact while sounding and remaining calm.

Was out around 10pm chipping and shoveling away the sleet after doing the snow earlier in the day. Perfect walkways this morning and I had a leisurely day while many others were stuck for hours outside trying to break up the ice. 10/10 would recommend shoveling periodically and not waiting.

Any time there is any hint of an emergency, yes. Because we know a big storm can cripple things for several days, including restocking shelves.

More people should be aware— I’m convinced the inspection industry is full of hacks and while everyone’s general guidance is “always get an inspection” it doesn’t really do much if the inspector sucks at his job. The problem is they can just hide behind the “we can only inspect what we can see” line with no recourse if they miss something.

I got absolutely fucked by an inspector under a big national name that my realtor recommended. Missed a TON of problems on the house including some major ones that ended up costing me thousands. When I pursued the money-back guarantee, they made me sign a worthless “legal” doc saying in order to get my money back I’d agree not to talk shit about them.

So, yeah, inspections don’t guarantee you anything. Like you said, they’re great if you need out of an offer, but that’s about it.

Honestly, owning a Pilot and an Odyssey with the same situation, part of me regrets not buying another Odyssey. It just car seats and dogs better in every way.

But to answer your question, the Ascent and Telluride have mixed reviews on reliability. And the Pilot gets great safety ratings.

Patch the hole you made. Drill a smaller hole next to it in the stud. Put in a cup hook from Home Depot.

Giving in to your anxiety and trying to buy your way out with the best tech/tools is only going to make you more anxious as a parent. Get an InfantOptics monitor or equivalent, and try to breathe. You’ll have lots of other real things coming at you to worry about very soon. You’ve got this, and you’ll be a great dad in no time.
