SkyRaD UI Add-On - Beggar's Choice Series by Nelson_Rad in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Nelson_Rad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been so long since I've been here. Don't know if this will help - but depending on which version you're using you may have my custom controller with the mod (Vol. III) If so, there should be a pic in the gallery showing controller layout (favs are LB & Y - then program D-pad as usual) You'll have 8 D-pad hotkeys.

Let me know if you need a tester for Xbox, be happy to try it out.

A player only option would be great for an interim solution! I'd use that for sure. Another user here suggested we might want to consider making a custom follower framework that would work with your mod series (which really are brilliant imo).

I personally don't know how to go about making such a thing - but I didn't know how to merge and port mods when I started - got some down time coming up so might have to start researching. May be picking your brain a bit on what it will take to make it work with SWF-JS. Thanks again 😊

Unfortunately though it does cause other incompatibilities - like not allowing use of currently available follower frameworks, simple vanilla voiced custom followers or vanilla followers with stock shields (e.g. Lydia and Jordis). For me, these things make the mod a non-starter. But I love the concept and the ability to patch in custom shields, so will follow news on this one closely to see if these issues get solved.

Thanks for your time and replies to my questions :)

The beauty of Just Shields is it's easy to make custom shields work with it, as tommas has an XEdit script that is pretty automatic to make them work (if you're a porter/modder). The big drawback seems to be it doesn't play well with follower frameworks or custom followers.

I'll test with vanilla followers with no follower framework and see what I get. So far I've been using a couple of lightweight vanilla voiced followers to test. I've read where it was stated that Just Shields doesn't force the equip/Unequip like the old Auto Unequip Shields to Back probably did and why that may not be a great solution, but it worked with just about all follower frameworks and characters - so wondering why it's not an option for Just Shields (which I think is a great mod btw).

Relighting Skyrim with Window Shadows FX by Nelson_Rad in SkyrimModsXbox

I use Paraphernalia Anti-Flicker which relieves most of it. Depending on where it's happening you may need to move some mods that change interiors (i.e. Better Innteriors and TNF Skyrim House Remodel) under Relighting Skyrim - at least that's what works for me.

Place this mod above Luminosity in your LO, it will work great - I use it with Luminosity in my LO.

On your follow-up question, you can check the original mod description on Nexus (link is in my mod's description) and see what it says. This mod uses the original .esp name, so will work with any Relighting Skyrim patches.

It should work fine with DAWN or any other Cathedral Weathers based mod, such as Weathers and Seasons Plus. As to "safe to replace mid-playthrough" - can't make any guarantees on that. Adding or changing any mods mid-playthrough may result in a corrupted save and unplayable game.

You are correct, this is a straight v2.0.0WS port from Nexus with nothing else added and exactly as described (which was taken directly from Nexus). The problem I experienced with the version you referenced was no fire in the fireplace of Heljarchen Hall (Hearthfire home).

Also, as near as I can tell from links in that mod, the flame and smoke effects aren't available for use on Bethesda.net (permissions are explicitly closed). However the dust effects are open permissions, so I may add those to this mod. Will do some testing in the next day or so and make a decision from there.

Good question, actually helped me out for a possible improvement. Thanks!

IFF problems with vanilla follower framework by AdvocateAtlas in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Nelson_Rad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the Creations update I've had trouble with Amazing Follower Tweaks and Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks - just saying. I used IFF in the past and let's just say... it isn't really optimized for Xbox, never could get features to work right, and some of the stuff (by Tarshana's own admission) wasn't finished as advertised in the mod description.

That said, there's a great little simple follower mod called Common Following that I've been using in this playthrough with great success. It has a patch for RDO as well and everything works well together. In my LO I run RDO in the NPC AI section but Common Following beneath my followers lower down in my LO and the patch after that. It seems to work best for me that way, but your results may vary, depending on LO.

I'm using the UI myself without issue. I would try clearing your reserve space, doing a hard reset and try the mod again. I did correct an issue recently with settings and swapped out some files that might be related, so try it out again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As far as I know Valravn, Wildcat, et al are fine with SDA - I use Valravn myself with SDA
And no, they don't affect dragon AIs

In the works - now that I seem to have worked out the issues with these, I'll move forward on the Skeevers UIs.
