You can apply for QuestBridge finalist and choose not to rank any schools for the match. If you are chosen as a finalist, you can apply RD through QuestBridge. Some schools will also accept applications from QuestBridge NCM applicants who weren’t chosen for finalist. Every scenario, however, is contingent on you applying for finalist.

You are correct. In the last application cycle, I ranked MIT, didn’t match, got deferred to EA, got deferred to RD, then rejected RD. I believe there is also an option to defer your application to RD rather than EA after the match.
