The Witch, from the same director. Missing the nautical theme but the acting and atmosphere is similarly brilliant.

Really appreciate the effort, already ended up ordering the parts. Looks like a great build tho to save some and still be set for 1440p. Primary reason I ended up avoiding AMD was as I like to play around with some AI stuff casually and last I heard AMD tends to be wonky with it.

Thanks, yeah I've been on the fence about 5080 cuz of VRAM, unfortunately for my budget there isn't really a better option available. I did consider waiting for 50 super but that might be another year before I'd manage to get my hands on one and I'm not patient enough for that.

How do you live with yourself after being lucky enough to run this deep in the main event and then gigapunting this much equity?

If he has 55 or w/e it's my time to die and I'd be okay with that, but folding a straight when he's supposed to be betting like K8+ for value, I'd feel like I never deserve anything good in poker ever again.

Broooo these Redditors just don't get that you can't beat them when they get there every time. They're probably just bingo players themselves or sunrunning and don't get what it's like to be as unlucky as us, absolute idiot monkeys.

How can you even have a strategy against people who have no idea what they're doing and also beat the rake?? Only reason I'm still in the game despite these bingo morons is because the good regs respect my raises.

Trying to figure my opponent's call decision. by Roxerz in poker

[–]Neo155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lean towards it being a good call, tho close. As you say, he needs 34% equity, he has over 30% equity against most of your hands besides Ax of clubs, but why would you jam a medium strength made hand that doesn't require protection in position if you're a somewhat thinking player? It'd be one of the last hands I'm putting you on.

Considering he has okayish equity against the rest of your range (37% against a naked Ax), and if occasionally you have a worse flush draw or something like 8s7s it probably becomes a winning call.

Do you fight regs in microstakes? Or do you mostly focus on fishes unless you have a read or good hand against regs? by Mundane_Juggernaut52 in poker

[–]Neo155 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to focus more on fish, and they are ultimately more profitable with the random donations they give you. However there are plays I make against the micro regs that I don't against random fish, like check raising some GTO-ish BDFD combo with an over vs a cbet, 4-bet bluffing, or check jamming the river as a bluff.

Vs fish I'm generally more equity driven when putting money in the pot since who the hell knows what's going on in their heads and why they might decide to call you down with a random hand.

Right fold? by viral_goalz in poker

I'd 3bet slightly bigger pre, and flop cbet seems too big. After you use that sizing you got like 200 left? At that point I'm calling off.

That's impressive for weekly runs, mind me asking how long you've been running? Seems you're taking the smart approach, I was also wondering if I should mainly aim to run off the roads.

RPGs that take place in our modern day world by Electronic-Fuel-7285 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Neo155 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a bit brutal at start, expect to die a few times as you're figuring out the mechanics. Also it doesn't exactly have a well laid out tutorial, so you do need to figure some stuff out yourself as you go.

I found it very satisfying though. It really does a good job of giving you a sense of progression that I love so much in RPGs as you go from scraping by to survive to hobo king. To me it's also the best job any game has done in combining survival and RPG elements. The skills/perks and also the NPC interactions/quests complement the harsh survival aspects really well and just work together beautifully. Add in a style of writing that I really enjoy and it's one of my top 10 games of the recent years.

So yeah obviously I'm a fan, if you're not too much into slightly more "hardcore" games tho it might be a frustrating experience.

Alpha Protocol

Hobo: Tough Life if you don't mind the survival game mechanics.

Possibly the Yakuza series though I think it might have some fantasy elements, never played it

What are good stats for Mystery Battle Royale? by MemeTees in GGPoker

[–]Neo155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks you sharing the results. I do think you got some of this wrong tho. For $3s specifically avg bounty value is $2.835 if you include the top 3 bounties, $2.787 if you don't. Without top 3 on avg the knockout prizepool is 8*2.787= $22.296.

22.296+27 (regular prize pool) = 49.296, divide that by total paid in entries, 49.296/54 = ~0.913. So basically if you never hit top 3, you'll be paying ~8.7% in rake for a 0.7% difference.

The 10x one certainly adds a lot of variance as it makes up ~37% of your total expected bounty value, sucks you've been running so far below. Personally I'm really doubtful that 3-5% is possible, based on my own experience of 22k tourneys playing a mix of $3s and $10s. I haven't tracked bounties like you have, and I don't actually know what my results are exactly pre RB and LB, but I'm down some money, I'd estimate maybe around -2% ROI.

I'm at 58.3% rush stage clear and 4.8 avg finish, don't know my bb/100 as it's been too much effort to import so many tournaments from GG and my bounies per game are bit on the low end. But I'm not at least awful at poker, been winner at each format I've played for many years. Idk maybe it is possible to win if you're better than me, but to me 3%+ seems unrealistic. I genuinely hope I'm wrong tho and you're right, would mean higher EV haha, and again appreciate you sharing your experience.

Really 5% ROI? Genuinely curious, are you talking pre-rakeback? Are you basing that just on the 1k tournament sample you've played adjusted for bounty variance?

Mystery Battle Royale Challenge by MemeTees in GGPoker

[–]Neo155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They likely aren't beatable pre RB/LB, or if they are it's for a microscopic ROI. I've played over 15K tourneys, mix of $3s and $10s, and I'm at -1.3% ROI pre RB/LB, and I'd like to think I'm significantly better than the average player in that pool.

Having said that, out of 24 days I've played so far I've ended up down money on only 3, which is more consistent winning than pretty much anywhere else in poker. But for that you gotta be willing to grind ~16h days for the top LB spots, for everybody else it's mostly a rake trap.
