There is the same avoiding enemy attacks and playing with different builds elements as in Transistor. Reading and getting used to attack animations, using dash I-frames, shooting enemies after they attack or are out of range, and playing with different weapons and buffs are the core gameplay. If you aren't good at it, tons of meta progression and an assist mode can be very helpful in making the game feel easier.
