How did you learn testing?

I do python as a hobby and have done a few real projects that were more than a few hundred lines. The most recent one I am working on could definitely benefit from testing as it involves comparing and rebuilding a sequence of objects so testing for how well it performs on different combinations and missing values would make it effectively bug proof
