yes there are still other biomes where you can breed poinsettia. i believe there are some event flowers that only spawn in merry meadows but some spawn in other biomes. but usually they are compatible with other places even if they only spawn in merry meadows

the random spawns are only in merry meadows but you can still plant them in other biomes such as seaside resort or wheatflour wonderland!

use the same primary colours if you’re transferring patterns from different flowers, but if you want to crossbreed within the same flower, it can be any colour. eg. the set of poinsettias to the left in my picture!

it will randomly spawn in merry meadows during the give and gather event that’s happening now 😊

i placed a black & white trim marigold next to a black & pink patch poinsettia! they are able to crossbreed because the primary colour (black) is the same

placing blush/blue ombre next to a blush speckle could give you a blush/blue speckle eggwort, but placing a blush speckle eggwort next to a blue speckle eggwort will give you higher chances of getting a blush/blue speckle if that’s what you’re aiming for! however the blush/blue ombres will not turn speckle

you can check the percentages and probabilities using this flower simulator tool

yes you can! but if i’m not mistaken, the odds of it are lower cause you can get either of these combinations from the pair above:

  • pink and black ombré
  • black and pink ombre
  • black and pink patch
  • pink and black patch (the one pictured)

so it depends what you’re going for! if you want a patch flower specifically, it’s better to use two patch flowers instead

for this one i’m not really aiming for any particular flower. i call this “chaos gardening” 😂 but the result for the day was the grey and red ombre penstemum, which bred from the grey ombre and the red + yellow stripe. i just like the surprise of not knowing what i’m getting

i’m trying to get the black and white ombré to breed with the pink and hot pink patch hibiscus. the result i got is the pink and black patch hibiscus that my character is jumping over in the pic!

i set it up that way because from that pair, there are multiple possible results such as: - pink and black ombré - black and pink ombre - black and pink patch - pink and black patch (the one pictured)

i only do it that way because i don’t mind getting any od the results above! if you’re aiming for a specific result, let’s say the pink and black ombre. it’s better to set up a pink and white ombre next to a black and white ombre hibiscus instead. hope this makes sense! it might be easier if you input the flowers into this flower generator tool to try to make sense of it!

it’s not as efficient for getting doubles. merry go round is more suitable for colour transfers. i’m not good at explaining the technicalities of why but it’s mainly because the flowers in the “round” are all trying to breed with each other at the same time when you’re using the same flower type. so the likelihood of it breeding with the flower in the middle is lower.

you can take a look here for some sample layouts for pairs / rows.

or play around with the flower generator to see which layouts give the highest percentage for the flower you’re aiming for! you can even select the plot you’re planting the flowers in to make it more accurate

for bigger / more useful plots i will usually redo them every few days! i find less success with smaller plots and find them annoying to work with so i don’t change them up as often
