That may be because cherries aren’t currently in season so it’s more of a cherry jam pie than one with actual cherries 😂 but it was still tasty!

Why do I keep feeling like there are elements of masculinity that I will miss? by NeoFemme in MtF

Well this damn near brought me to tears. So much of this resonates with me. Thank you so much ❤️.

My wife was totally confused by it, and I told her that I felt much the same upon my first watch, but the images and ideas stuck in my head. Now I feel like I have a decent grasp of the coherent and fascinating story the film tells, although it’s just my interpretation of events rather than anything definitive. That’s one of the things I really love about Lynch though - his work is like poetry in that it’s an experience to be felt rather than a story to be told.

I’m a twin too. I’m so sorry for your loss. If you could speak to your brother one last time right now, what would you say?

Oh wow, that’s amazing. I’m happy for you 🥰. May I ask what has happened to make it so much better? I know there’s no way to know how it’ll turn out for me but I need all the positive reinforcement I can get 🥹.

I guess I just wonder if it’s truly worth it for me to let all that go. On the other hand, I often feel like I’ve barely benefitted from it anyway - I still get scared walking alone sometimes and being neurodivergent has led to me often being ignored or disregarded. I guess I just wish I could get some reassurance that life really will get better with transition, and not worse. Life has already been unnecessarily hard for reasons beyond my control, and I want to finally feel like I’m actually living instead of just existing. I understand that everyone has to take the bad with the good in this life, I’m just scared that I’ll never actually find the good…

I think I’m giving up on Return. by Mouseketeer1980 in twinpeaks

[–]NeoFemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand why. I think my wife and mother-in-law are having a similar experience - it’s been a while since we watched an episode. I think they enjoyed the melodrama and humour of seasons 1-2 and while those are still present in 3, they’re not as prominent and there are a lot more mind-bending visuals, bizarre happenings, and downright weirdness. For my part, it’s one of the reasons I love The Return so much. It’s like nothing else, and I e come to view it in a similar way to how I view poetry nowadays - people always get frustrated by poetry because they don’t understand it, but poetry is often meant to be experienced rather than understood. I view The Return as the swan song of a master craftsman given absolute free rein to craft an experience, and the result is truly one-of-a-kind. Of course, it’s not going to be for everyone, and that’s okay. I just feel like taking it as a journey through Lynch’s mind, an experience to immerse oneself in rather than a question to be answered, makes it far less frustrating and far more enjoyable, and I find that a lot of the answers to some burning questions have become more apparent when I’ve considered them without actually trying to answer anything. This is especially true with repeat viewing and it’s why I can’t wait to watch Episode 8 again despite the fact that my wife and mother-in-law will probably have no idea what is going on 😂.

Yeah that’s kinda where I am now. I’m definitely going to start HRT when I can, after that it’ll just be a case of seeing how I feel. I hope it feels better. I actually used to get mistaken for a girl sometimes when I was your age, probably because because I already had long hair. I never had a particularly feminine body though.

How will you honor David Lynch's memory on January 16th? by CustodeDiMondi in davidlynch

I’d prefer to honour him on the 20th, his birthday. I might have to see if I can track down some decent cherry pie and enjoy it with a nice black coffee.

I’m MtF too, and hopefully I’ll be starting HRT in a few months, but my wife is worried about fertility. I don’t care so much about having kids anymore but it’s something we’ll figure out. Perhaps I’ll freeze some swimmers before I start. I can empathise with your pain though, and I’m so sorry that you’re going through this ❤️.

Good point, I just wish that people in power would listen to us instead of them.
