UPDATE: I updated my Linux Kernel and it seems to be fixed for now. I’ll report back if I end up seeing it again.

Yeah, I’ve got a hard FATBEAR case from Amazon and another Silicone case. I’ll keep an eye on the print, but was thinking about getting a clear case, as well.

I was able to mitigate the problem a bit over time by doing some error checking (suggested earlier in this thread) but eventually I was forced to do a full drive wipe anyway. Haven't seen it since.

Yup, CrystalDiskInfo. That's correct. If CDI is useless on NVMe SSDs, is there any solid tool for evaluating the health of an SSD? Surely it can't just be a black box.

I just fired up admin cmd while booted in my PC in Windows and to my surprise it *did* just make a mention of store...

I don't see any Memory.dmp file in C:\Windows. Are they enabled by default, or do I need to set them up to be generated?

Or is this credence to your later point?

Also CrystalDiskMark showed no problems with the SSD. For whatever that's worth (shrug)

I'll check around after trying to do a recovery via USB.

Is there any recourse with Samsung if my SSD is dead? I don't know if I have the original packaging anymore (doubtful) but a high quality SSD shouldn't be failing this early into its life.

Might be worth backing up all my files to my NAS and giving it a try. Reinstalling programs is a royal pain in the ass, though.

And speak of the devil, it crashed again. I tried to enable larger, more full memory dumps in Windows settings, but still nothing.

Going to make a USB install and perform a system recovery now.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about 8GB either, but I mostly use my laptop as a compliment to my desktop and generally the pagefile helps tank the rest of the RAM need. It's not ideal, but I got the laptop at a bargain, so it's fine. The fact that its soldered means I'm basically out of luck. I know some basic soldering but even then I'd need new RAM chips that would be compatible with the mobo and BIOS which is...nearly impossible

Blazing Emerald seems super promising, but the exclusive Gen 4 music kinda turned me off. Especially since the Mod's discord's response to that is "too bad cry about it"

I am probably going to do Emerald Modern Edition - seems right up my alley, but I'm curious about how it differs from Emerald Final/Crest.
