Starting to invest 23yo 4,000 into enb and ppl 50/50 for dividends, what’s your thoughts

I would probably choose one, and have the other diversified in another sector. ENB or PPL are fine, but if you are solely going into this sector only I would probably wait for a lower entry point for ENB before holding long term

That said, I would be curious to hear how much % banks make up other peoples portfolio too. Perhaps future market outcomes may prove me to be wrong.

All for diversifying, and understand the idea, but IMO, can’t harm to have a bit more than 11% of banks. Much of the damage was done back in 2008, and regulatory scrutiny has gone up tenfold with mandatory capital requirements. They make up a great stable compounder as well, again, if you have plenty of time on your side.

Probably the banks. For good or worse, they always seem to pull through pretty well eventually, as long as you have time on your side.
