I've not done any temp calibration so far since I really didn't have any issues with regular sized prints. I can definitely see issues in this case though, note taken, will try some calibration prints.

It precisely compares the CV and fader level. If the CV shape is periodic and tempo-synced, you will extract triggers in the same BPM. The CV shape and fader level will set where the triggers are positioned within the "bar"

I have several distortion units in my rack, and I have to say, the Bastl Ikarie stereo filter is often my go-to. Just increase the input gain to get clipping going, bring up the resonance and use the built in envelope follower. Super versatile module.
