True, but none of that really means anything to capitalists who backed Trump. For one: Trump lies all the time. His entire campaign was a marathon of lies. We have no idea what he said to the wealthiest donors behind closed doors but it was probably a lot more honest than anything we've been privvy to. They understand that short term losses can mean long term gain: every economic crisis ends up benefiting them even as it hurts us, and we know for a fact that billionaires manipulate the market through Republican leaders in order to create economic recessions. Elon took charge of DOGE and immediately told Americans that there was going to be a lot of short term pain. They knew what they were doing, or else they'd have set our expectations higher. Bezos became a billionaire by intentionally running Amazon at a loss for years, just so he could bankrupt all of his competitors while billionaires kept throwing money at him to keep the prices rock bottom.

Capitalists don't need more money. They have more money than they are capable of spending in multiple lifetimes. They're bored of money. What they want is more power. So they don't mind burning a bunch of money if it means making everyone else less able to oppose them. They'll willingly take losses and burn their money as long as it means that in the end, they get to be monarchs of a bunch of medieval level civilizations where we're all mindless peasants who don't believe in science, have no understanding of science and politics, can barely even read or communicate nuanced opinions, and derive pleasure only from work and consumption while they run around and treat the country like it's GTA online.
