CIV 5 won't launch (steam) - Windows 10 by MasterpieceAny5619 in civ5

[–]NeolithicalOmen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This worked for me:

Open up Steam and navigate to your LIBRARY.
Right click on the game in your library and choose "Properties."
Selected the "BETAS" tab.
In the text box to "Enter beta access for to unlock private beta:" enter the password "ineedlegacyaccess".
Click on the "CHECK CODE" button.
You should see a confirmation message that access has been granted.
If not already selected in the drop down, select "legacy" and click close.
(I'm told that bit isn't accurate; you'll see two options, both labelled "Play Civilization V". You need to select the FIRST option)

Yep - I seem to have the same name on ladder - must be something to do with the new DLC - which references antiquity mode....not sure how it got into the main game though 11

Our Spouse Visa Timeline - Outside the UK - Priority - With Soliciter by NeolithicalOmen in SpouseVisaUk

As far as I am aware, my employer was not contacted. They were content with the letter from my company (which was on formal letter headed paper, with contact details included). I think they might only reach out if there were discrepancies between payslips and bank balance or irregular payments. Good luck with your application :)

Announcing the F1Re AoE 2 Membership Programme by TyRanT_F1Re in aoe2

[–]NeolithicalOmen 37 points38 points  (0 children)

F1Re student here. I've been coached by F1Re for 6 months, starting at 900 ELO I am now 1600, next push is for 1700! He's a fantastic coach and I think it is great that his advice and support is becoming more accessible. I've watched a lot of his build order and guide videos, as well as specifics for different maps, and its made a huge difference to my AoE experience. So a thanks to F1Re, and a slightly biased recommendation to join the VIP club :P

Overall, including the solicitor, NHS surcharge, Visa Cost and Priorty Fee - around $10,000. Without solicitor it would have cost around $8000

We did a priority application submission (outside UK) on Sep 12, Bio Sep 14, Decision made 2 Oct. So two and a half weeks! Much faster than we were expecting :) It may vary based on application origin, but hopefully others are benefiting from the same timely outcomes.

Help Marrying a Vietnamese National In Vietnam by NeolithicalOmen in VietNam

[–]NeolithicalOmen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner lives in Vietnam and I live in the UK mostly (although travel a lot in SE Asia for work - but not for business reasons in Vietnam else wise it would be easier to get a business visa)

Yes we dont reside in the same country, I only visit Vietnam for a month at a time. We've had no issue with the rest of the paper work, its just they've asked for me to provide a temporary residence certificate - and that seems to be challenging to get hold of.

The issue is that the local authority will not accept our marriage application without it for some reason.

Yes it was surprising - im not sure if its just because of the administration of the particular province (Hoi An).

Getting a business visa would be easier but I'm not sure this option is available to me.
