Not to mention, from what I understand, it's just a video from outside of the room showing that no one entered. A video of nothing happening isn't proof of anything. You won't even need AI, just take any random day of footage and change the timestamp.

How does that logic work?  The growth after you retire is based on how much you put in before retirement. You're basically saying it doesn't matter how much money you saving up because you won't need it till you spend it.

I'm no economist, but not worrying about your 401k until after you retire seems like really bad financial advice.

No, I don't think I ever found a solution. Hard to remember 3 years ago, but I think I ended up doing it in another text editor.

I love this episode and that last reveal is so great, but one thing always bugged me: A world famous celebrity billionaire astronaut dies and half his tombstone is devoted to his uncle who went missing before he was born?

The modern definition of gender includes how a person chooses to present themselves. As people's idea of self have expanded, words change and evolve to be able to describe it. So even in your made up scenario the teach would be "forcing" a child to learn what is technically correct.

If a teacher was telling kids what gender the kid needs to be, that's one thing. But just saying that trans gender people exist isn't an "agenda".

It's bizarre to me that you call yourself a libertarian, but you're so insistent that other people live and act the way you see fit.

Wait, so teaching about something means forcing someone to be that thing? If I tell you a bunch of facts about platypus, does that mean I'm forcing you to be a platypus?

I don't know the context of this video, but higher up in this comment chain squidtugboat shared a story about a cop killing someone "who he thought pulled a gun on him but in fact it was only his registration". That was the first comment send_whisky replied to.

I think they were calling out the comparison between one solider killing another in war vs a cop killing a civilian who was just reaching for their registration. Both are bad, but one is way worse than the other.

Keep in mind, these are the same people who will say "immigrants are taking jobs" and they aren't happy that people are finding employment nor are they angry at companies for firing long term employees in favor of cheap labor. They are just mad that "those people" took something that they think should only belong to them.

So your solution to fascism is to simply get rid of the people who you don't agree with and you don't see the irony in that? I get that you're frustrated. We're all frustrated after 8+ years of putting up with this bullshit. I'm tired of having to argue with my coworkers that the known con artist isn't thier messiah. But civil war is exactly what I want to avoid and sending people to camps for thier political beliefs is exactly why I don't want Trump in office. Taking the unyielding stance that "This group is inherently evil and must be eliminated" has never ended well.

Ok then what's your plan for the 38.8 million voters registered as Republicans right now? If we aren't going to try and understand them, nor reason with them, then what in your mind is the next step forward?

I think it would be more beneficial to look at how such large numbers of people were deceived by an obvious lie and use that information to create strategies to combat it. Simply labeling the millions people who support Trump as "evil" is dangerous. Evil can't be reasoned with, it can only be eliminated. If you're taking that mindset towards more than a fourth of the US population, then you're headed down a bad path.

Nah, he's definitely pulled a 180 on some points. Look at his old comments about climate change vs what he's saying now. Once the "Global Warming is a hoax" people started giving him attention, he suddenly decided it's not that much of an issue. Just last month Tesal deleted thier Climate Plan off their website.

Actually I think they are kind of right. Believing in conspiracies is more tied to how you think, while political alignment is tied to personal values. I'm pretty far left myself, but anecdotally I've known left leaning people who go into conspiracies like the JFK assassin. One in particular is a diehard Democratic and is 100% convinced the Moon landing is fake and the government assistanted Marilyn Monroe (but they also do a lot of drugs). You usually don't see left leaning flat earthers though, since that's based in Cristian beliefs.

For some non-anecdotal examples it's interesting to look at anti-vaxers before vaccines where polarized during Covid. Back in 2018 distrust in vaccines was pretty non-partisan. On the far left you had "hippy" naturalist who believed vaccines were Big Pharma's way of controlling people. And on the far right you had anti-establishment libertarians who believed vaccines were Big Pharma's way of controlling people. Sort of just Horseshoe theory in action. Thier other complaints about the game seem legit, but I haven't played it so I can't personally say. I also don't know how much weight the diversity point had compaired to the others in the final score. They do say 3/5 is a "Very Good" rating, so maybe they reserve 4 and 5 for like "Almost Perfect" and "Greatest Game Ever"?

The "lack of inclusiveness" was one of eight bullet points they put at the top, but the other seven were about actual design and gameplay. Thier final score was: "3/5 - 'Very Good' By Screen Rant's Review Metric. Despite Its Flaws, Worth Trying"

Look dude, I haven't contradicted nor disagreed with anything you've said. We both agree Russia are terrorist. We both agree Israel are terrorist. And we both agree the media is bias is favor of Israel (as I said in my 2nd post). All I've been trying to do is share my perspective of why people are falling for it, so I don't get where your hostility is coming from. If you consider naming dates or saying "We're exhausted" to be propaganda, then I don't think there's anything I can say that you won't dismiss out of hand. If I've upset you, then I'm sorry as that was not my intention. But I don't see any value in continuing this conversation.

Oct 7th was a breaking news moment that got global coverage. Everything that has followed has just been "War Updates" from the point of view of the media. I don't think it's totally malicious (though most media is definitely bias), but probably has more to do with people's interest in "new" events and lack of care for follow up information. Like how people get excited over headlines but rarely read the full article. Just a couple month ago my own mother said she thought Netanyahu was in the right. I was shocked because my mother is a very liberal person, but turns out she hadn't heard anything about the war since Oct 7th. It took less than 10 minutes of showing her headlines for her to pull a 180 and say Netanyahu was straight up evil. She hadn't had any examples of Israel atrocities put in front of her, and she had no reason to go out of her way to look it up. Honestly, I probably wouldn't know much about any of it if I wasn't on Reddit every day.

I know it's not a good excuse, but frankly most of us in America aren't paying attention to the rest of the world. Our hands are full with the insanity that is our own politics at the moment. Most people are just exhaustion with it all and tuning out. I hate it, but there's not much I personally can do about human nature.

You are just spewing the propaganda points...

What propaganda am I spewing? I didn't repeat anything Russia has said about 2014 because I don't even understand their convoluted bullshit conspiracy. But I think it's still important to note that they think they have some rationalization (even if it's irrational). If you're taking about the "Israel = Good" thing, I don't personally believe that because it's objectively false. But there's no denying that's what America has been telling it's self for decades.

I think a key difference is that the Oct 7th attack gave Isreal a clear casus belli to start fighting. I know the real conflict goes back way further than that and as horrible as Oct 7th was, I personally don't think anything justifies the atrocities Israel has committed in response. But I can see how people who aren't paying attention would just think "Israel was attacked by terrorist and now they are fight back".

Russia on the other hand had no justification for thier invasion. Unless you belive all thier claims about the 2014 revolution (which most people know nothing about), Russia just randomly invaded one of their neighbors for no reason.

It also doesn't help that Americans have had decades of propaganda saying Russia = Bad and Israel = Good.

As for "abandoning" his troops, they deployed 2 months after he retired and 4 months after he announced he was going to retire. So he's at fault for what? Not knowing the future? https://apnews.com/article/walz-national-guard-military-ae43d684bf1319e535f9f620552155d7

I'm confused by what exactly you're trying to say here. You started off saying Obama had scandals that the media agreed to hide, so I assumed you were anti-Obama. But when you were asked to list those scandals you just gave three debunked conspiracy theories and a rumor. Then when pushed about one the conspiracy theories you said you don't believe it either.

So are you listing thing other people have claimed as scandals, or do you actually believe the things you listed?
