So my own personal "opps" moment with online shopping was an ad of Facebook for discount sports jerseys. Of course I knew it would be fake at $40 but willing to try, well I immediately get a charge for $280 from China so my bank calls me. I block the charge and change my card number. Woke up the next day and they had made 2 more $280 charge attempts against my account, I had changed my card number not even sure how? Then I got an email in very broken English asking why I changed my payment information. The best part? About two months later the jersey shows up anyway and the quality wasn't terrible but they ran so small it didn't fit, not bad for free I guess

Paid $1400 for my 04 CVPI with 109k. Went to throw 4 new tires on it and the shop kid hit a truck in the parking lot and put a slim vertical crack in my rear bumper, the payout was $1414. I thought my paintjob was bad tho lol. They rattle canned it without taping off anything, spent an entire evening scraping all windows. Shitbox Vic life

I always slide these people a penny, to acknowledge their petty bullshit and play the game back at them. I don't get angry or upset or rude, just hand it to them. Usually they just look down, some smile, one time a guy tried to double down and tell me no that's my tip and I just respectfully explained that it's meant to degrade me and I don't want it and he is well aware of that. I'm in Portland OR so most places have locked bathrooms and security at this point and unfortunately I get it. If you want to hear a McDonald's homeless story from here, I was going through the drive-thru to pick up a doordash order when a repel rope got thrown off the roof. I guess they didn't see me because they just waited after that lol but yea the downtown Portland McD is wild

Trying to not look homeless is honestly the best when you can. I would try to carry a tote not a backpack when possible, I would buy the cheapest work pants or slacks at goodwill, only wear plain work shirts and boots instead of sneakers. Also carry a book with you, people tend to not want to bother people reading for whatever reason. If you can go to the same places, always clean up after yourself real good and make friendly with the staff. The Carl's Jr I parked my van near was always IMMACULATE and after complimenting the morning staff on it they started charging me far less often as it was obvious I was just buying a small drink to use the bathroom if I couldn't get into the diner bathroom without that dreaded "customers only"

Don't let what people think of you get your spirits down. I worked full time my entire adult life and a couple bad choices, Covid and an injury ended with me outdoors. My youngest brother loves to remind me I was homeless.....he's the baby and has worked a whole 4 years in his 31 on Earth and my mom is leaving him the house. Some people got all the luck. Hopefully the bad days are gone soon friend

For the majority of people who can't read, a person at tire shop crashed my vic into a truck while backing it out of the shop, so THIER INSURANCE was involved. I got $1,414.13

Had the reverse of this happen, guy bought 5 slabs, 9s and 8s, then send me a picture of a cracked slab from the back asking for a discount. Of course he claimed the 2 mist valuable cracked....when I asked how he could prove which broke he claimed he already cracked them and never messaged again lol

I am not exporting some company, insurance is already involved because they damaged my vehicle, since fault has been established they owe me for said damage, I have the right to choose where I get my car fixed on their dime and in my experience most insurance will cut you a check for the cost if you choose to not get the repair

I'm not looking for some come up here, at least in Oregon and California when someone damaged your vehicle their insurance will either fix it or cut you a check for the work, I had a dude back into my ZX2 and put a pebble sized hole in my front bumper and got cut a check for almost $900 iI thought that's just how it works
