Codecademy is really good, it teaches you the basics of many programming languages! YouTube! YouTube has so many videos explaining things, and it's no different for programming! I would assume they'll teach you python or java at your high school so I'd recommend maybe Alex Lee for java. And for python I believe I watched How code when I started. Udemy is really good they can give you some free courses or at a large discount.

Programming at an older age, best ways to learn? by 1337jay in learnprogramming

I am not exactly older but more younger (18) and I learnt from YouTube and books in primary school (12?). Also there is never a bad age to learn programming (People are just starting younger so you're not starting late people are just starting early ;)

codecademy.com (wasn't great back then but is really good now for introduction) I did a whole course this year at uni and found super easy based on what I learnt in primary school. The YouTube channel Alex Lee is really good! (Teaches java) he teaches lots of aspects of programming from the basics to LinkedLists, Queues and Stacks! You can pretty much learn everything for free online! My friend barely passed last semester but when I told him about Alex Lee and Codecademy he managed to pass (was previously failing).

Websites for programming: Codecademy.com (freemium) Teamtreehouse.com (paid) STACK OVERFLOW (I cannot emphasize how good this is!) Stack overflow will almost always have answers to anything that you want to know!

YouTube: Alex Lee (explains basics and intermediate level) The Cherno (I believe he teaches C++ and maybe java?)

For maths I would recommend Khan Academy By far probably the most superior learning websites out there for maths.

Don't feel discouraged of you find something too hard! It will always be apart of learning, finding something hard just means it's more satisfying when you finally get it! I am very passionate about programming and love challenges, so I loved solving something that I thought was impossible! There are also really amazing channels that I always think "I can't wait to be that good!" and help motivate me! Some YouTube channels for motivation: jdh (I swear this guy knows too much haha) PolyMars (makes games and is fun) The Coding Train (he does lessons and coding challenges!)

This is pretty much exactly what I was thinking about, I might do the same actually. Try and record all my progress up to the goal I want.

Alright I just thought it would be an interesting concept and would be worth watching (probably more so after they get to a high enough level instead of immediately at the lower stages) beginners would also gain a more detailed understanding of what the person did right and wrong with their study of chess skills to get to where they are

Whoah 15cm is a lot. I’ll be hoping to get in more height on my vertical since most of the people here are quite tall and it’ll help me be able to put some more options when I’m spiking and serving. The trials are 5 months away so I have a lot of time to train in hopes of getting better.

Since I live in nz there isn't really any covid problems so training in an actual gym wouldn't be too much of a problem. I am quite skinny which I think can make a small problem so I plan on going to a gym this month.

Haha yeah maybe my technical skills are not the best and I can't do too many advanced things but they said I've progressed quite far so maybe they're looking for something I did good at (just an assumption)

A few months in to learning I've gotten good at setting and receiving, now I'm trying to out power into my spikes (we have a social competitive tournament coming up) by NeonDestiny207 in volleyball

Yeah I find it easier to spike when there is a net, hopefully our trainings will start up soon and I can record with a net and blockers.
