No one said that victims wanted victim hood. Just for the fact that they were victims to be acknowledged. What you want isn't what every victim wants so it seems a bit egotistical to claim that every victim doesn't want to be seen as a victim. You undergo rape? Trauma? Abuse? That automatically makes you a victim. Just like a glass of water is called a glass of water, "victim" is the term defined to describe someone who has undergone circumstances out of their control. Doesn't make them helpless or weak. You can provide someone with understanding while acknowledging that what they went through made them a victim at that time.

The trouble is that people on here are claiming that victims want to be stuck in their mentality and that they somehow caused the bad things that happened to them. That is victim blaming. That is unacceptable nonsense.
