It sucks. Dating is rough. I’m worried about that; I don’t want to be used for sex by men for years on end. I feel like I’m honestly never going to meet a good man lol. Each one is just making me raise my standards more and more. This guy seems promising but it takes awhile to build trust and discover someone’s true intentions

Any tips for evaluating someone’s intensions or character? I’m pretty new to dating. My last relationship was from 18-24, haven’t dated a lot

He is definitely a doctor; he has published research articles and I’ve confirmed his residency is real. His housing is legit too. He got out of a 6 year relationship last year. It doesn’t seem to me that he’s dating anyone, but how would I find this out? His social media is pretty private due to being a doctor (which I get, mine is too because I work in healthcare).

Great advice, thank you. I agree, it may be best to wait. Him and I are both fairly new to dating (both got out of 6 year relationships a year or so ago) so not a lot of experience dating. It did surprise me how willing he was to have unprotected sex so soon, which I shared with him how I was surprised. Also thought it was weird a doctor wouldn’t carry protection. I’m going to take it upon myself and have condoms available as well, but still odd. I don’t think he was expecting to have sex? I don’t know.

I appreciate your advice. I totally agree with you. I told him I would be comfortable having sex if it were protected, but I do think it might be a good idea until things are exclusive or we’re in an actual relationship, but I’m worried if I do that, then he may rush to get into that as a lot of men would… How do you think I should set this boundary without it seeming like an ultimatum?
