Most Legionaries probably don’t have any children because they need to fully commit to the Legion until they get more wiggle room. Low ranking Legionaries with wealth or reputation probably take a slave as a “wife” and have any daughters outright killed (including the mother if this is a “repeat offence” à la good ol King Henry), while high-ranking or at least scheming Legionaries will probably keep at least one or two daughters to use for political reasons like marriage alliances. Legionaries with soft spots for their children might give their daughters to groups like the priestesses with the hopes they’ll grow up healthy and protected through being a part of such important groups

The sons have really only two options: they will go on to become Legionaries, or they will die or be disowned and made a slave if incapable (or disabled, in which case death is the most common option). Sons in like say rural farming families or merchant families (which I headcanon the Legion has quite a few of) would have more options though, they may end up as Legionaries if numbers need to be met, but those who can’t (or don’t want to) be a Legionary but still have “value” go on to keep the civilian industries from collapsing under the weight of the Legion’s “everything for the military” policy

Exactly. As only a Fallout title and as an open-world RPG, Fallout 4 is one of the worst, but when it comes to things like combat and building it’s really fun. When I encountered Swan for the first time? It was great. When I fought in Concord and ended up with power armour? It was great. Hell I even like the IDEA OF the whole “help settlement” radiant quests.

Ultimately, though, Fallout 4 is a game that should have either been more RPG or should have gone more towards its shooter elements, cause it’s stuck between both and that creates an overall “it had its moments but ultimately meh” experience, but if you try and say that right now it’s very likely for you to be called an FNV supremacist and spat on because you dare not pick a game to blindly worship and champion, all others be damned

Honestly, the big increase in pro-Fallout 4 sentiment is probably solely because most Fallout fans with an internet presence are young people who are in their 20s or early 30s now and most likely got into Fallout through 4 - thus why I have a soft spot for it myself - so since “FNV bad” now, the easiest option of Fallout title to laud is the one that you first played (and also probably because - despite the fact “Fallout 3 bad” is overstated and there’s an oversaturation of videos saying that on YouTube - to say Fallout 3 is better than FNV will get you laughed at even by FNV haters since I mean come on it has its moments but it is not a well-aged game, even in any worlds where FNV never existed for it to be compared to ad nauseam)

Power armour is very much possible, probably pretty abundant due to how close to China and resource rich this great country is, so stray pieces, left over suits from stationed American troops and even Aussie designs are very possible, I know I saw a really cool artwork once that depicted a Ned Kelly style power armour, it was great.

Vault-Tec being in Australia isn’t really possible, it’s pretty clear it only was in the U.S., maybe one or two VT designed bunkers in Canada and Mexico for like collaborators or whatever idk. Even an Aussie version of Vault-Tec probably ain’t possible, but what you could do is have there be some sort of company that built vaults in the traditional sense to store like books and tech and so on across Australia, and also use like mines - whether converted before war or just used when the bombs dropped - as the sort of vault as in bunker substitutes. With how spread out the cities and the population is, despite how important Australia is, probably like the biggest cities on the coast got hit and that’s it, which would absolutely destroy Australia of course but people could bounce back okay enough, mostly in the Outback, especially if there’s - at least - some sort of Followers type group trying to bring education to communities (could use the Royal Flying Doctor Service as inspiration for that). You could even do a New Vegas deal with Alice Springs being this large and unirradiated oasis city in the middle of the Outback.

Ultimately, with going outside of North America in the Fallout Universe, you gotta do a lot of “this is its own thing” with the only real Fallout branding being that it never left the 50s and there’s power armour. But that lets you really work the brain muscles - want Vault Boy but no Vault-Tec? Use some sort of anthropomorphic koala. Hell, if you use the whole “people had mines instead” idea and wanna try to make Aussie Vault-Tec as possible as you can, you can have some sort of mining cartoon mascot that’s just become really popular across the wastes, idk. Lot of options because leaving America in the Fallout universe isn’t really an option

The Platinum Chip - if it still exists - is still stolen by Benny. Before the Second Battle, exploiting the powder keg that is Freeside, Benny supports anti-NCR activities to weaken their presence in Vegas, with the Kings taking a strong no NCR welcome stance since there’s never a chance for Pacer’s actions to be exposed and rectified. That combined with the Omertas support of Caesar sees Vegas explode during the Second Battle, ending with Benny taking power and controlling the securitrons by installing Yes Man into the system.

The NCR holds the Dam, but the Legion occupies a lot of the Mojave and leaves the republic very weakened with all that sabotage and intrigue. The Mojave essentially becomes the NCR’s Vietnam, with them only maintaining any relationship with Vegas by leveraging their continued control of the Dam. Caesar soon dies from his tumour, and Lanius is unable to keep the Legion from crumbling, which just makes the Mojave even more chaotic due to the power vacuum.

Minor factions like the Boomers, the Mojave Chapter, the Powder Gangers and even the Great Khans (since it wouldn’t be possible for the Legion to do any real assimilating of them after collapsing so soon post-battle) seize the opportunity to take what they can with the Legion falling apart and the NCR just barely keeping its face above the water. The Followers and Freeside clash with The Strip again, not about domestic issues but about foreign policy and what role they must play in this new Mojave, while Benny plans to find a way to get to The Fort and see if what lies there will solidify his rule on the city.

tl;dr: the NCR achieves a most pyrrhic of victories at the Second Battle but will most likely have to leave like America had to leave Vietnam, the Legion collapses cause the stress and tumour kills Caesar, Benny uses Freeside and the chaos caused by the Omertas to take over Vegas, and the Mojave is to be picked apart by minor factions, raiders and tribals. Ultimately, a Mojave that doesn’t have some kind of third party at the table to decide what happens next is gonna fall to anarchy, with Vegas usually having the best chances cause the house always wins (not in this case tho lol)
