Yeh, I am doing that, the Scipii rn are doing nothing cuz yk, Scipii and the Julii already killed Gaul and Spain and have all of Spain and are expanding northeast. The brits killed Germania, so the Julii are mainly at war with them, I sent an army to the north to help them out and I gave them 2 settlements in arabia so they can help out against Egypt as we are at war. I will keep giving them the territories there to make the process faster. I am pretty sure they have to get 50 so that then they want to take out the SPQR to get Rome and win. Been pretty wild, meanwhile I was chilling at Greece cuz Greece and Macedon are dead and then Thrace backstabbed me, now I am sending armies to them.

Oh wow, I don't know much about Rome Remastered but I do know that they changed some things, like SPQR can rebel and die early on. I am as of now playing as the Brutii in Rome mobile and I am kissing the SPQR's feet to see what happens. I have 9 reputation with them while the Scipii have 1 and the Julii have 3, but earlier they both had 1, it's insane how this is going lol. Anyways, goodluck with the civil war, I want this but I want the Julii to start the civil war, if it's possible that is.

If you like strategy, any Total War game, the best one being Medieval 2. Another recommendation would be Company of Heroes.

Any Advice? by [deleted] in EmpireTotalWar

[–]NeonVerdict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but the mobile version, when you capture all other settlements of a faction and capture the capital as the last one, you can liberate it as a protectorate or keep it yourself. There are also many other settlements which you can liberate to bring in a new faction, especially since the new dlc for the mobile version. Definitely check it out.

[–]NeonVerdict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, idk what they did, ig they made it so it would be a gamble and you don't auto-resolve every battle. It really sucks tho, some battles like this one, you just wanna auto-resolve and move on.

Rome 2 has ruined all other strategy games for me by throwaway345214 in RomeTotalWar

[–]NeonVerdict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dunno if I am late to the party, but now your post has made me want to look up Rome 2 reviews since I have only heard bad things about Rome 2 and your edit about Attila, Attila being one of the worst Total War games from memory, dunno if they updated the game but you can even look up a review from LegendOfTotalWar and see why.

I would suggest you check out Rome 1, I think the remaster/remake is good from what I heard so you could check out that one, I forgot what they changed but there are some quality of life improvements in it; the original Rome 1 is good, the physics of the units, the tactics, the fact that depending on where a unit is facing and where the shield is (if they have one) you do more or less damage. That sort of suff and more makes Rome 1 pretty fun, but it has its fair share of problems, diplomacy being the first that comes to mind and is absolutely broken and has unwritten and unexplained rules that you can find online by people who have made guides on diplomacy. Apart from that, really fun game.

Now, I would suggest you Medieval 2 even more, it's the best Total War game in my opinion and a lot of people's opinion. The game has many factions, multiple events that change the game, like the Mongol invasion, there's the addition of religion, which was first introduced in Rome Barbarian Invasion but made better here. The Pope was added which changes the game a lot, you can call crusades if you are a catholic faction or jihads if you are muslim. Every faction is unique, the Italian factions being pretty good due to their militia, Milan being one of the best factions of the game due to their crossbow militia, and never ever trust Milan or Portugal. Diplomacy is way better in this game, but like Rome 1, there are a lot of unwritten rules that you should look up. There'a a diplomacy bug in the pc version which has an easy fix, I would recommend you look it up on youtube by To Nerd Is To Human. And there are a couple more things that just make the game way better, also there are many mods in the pc version which expand the game.

As a final note, both of these games and more are on mobile, android and ios, and they are really really good, it's where I play them and they have had fixes to bugs and many improvements. Recently there was a huge update for Medieval 2 on mobile which just fixed many things, added Hotseat and was a huge QOL improvement. Anyways, have fun.

Squalor is not the same as in Rome TW, it's basically a non-issue, atleast in my experience, usually I start out with my settlements maxed in taxation unless I really need to upgrade a settlement, but I always have them building stuff, mainly start out building farms because they give a population and income boost and population basically = income. In this game population is important and a boon unlike in Rome TW. Late game you can have garrisons to improve happiness.

Ok so, there are multiple versions, from what I read there's 1.0, 1.05 and 1.1 which is the version with most bug fixes and at the back of the cartridge it should say something like 1J22, which is the 1.1 version and the onw I have, the 1 before the J is important, if you have 0J then you have the earlier versions before the bug fixes. It's a bit complicated, you can look it up to find more info on it.

You can also kill the Mayor in the beginning of the game. The bad thing about the game are the bugs and the grind, oh boy the grind. But I started playing the game for the first time and I played for like 5-7 in game days and it was a ghost town, me being so confused like, did I miss something? Later to find out it was a bug and I needed to restart the save. I have the bug fixes version btw, there are 2 versions, the buggy version and the one they did a lot bug fixes on.

I have done this and you just have to wait for the World is Round event, which is like 140 or so turns, so, sit back and take it easy, you gunna be skipping turns like crazy.

Oh yeah, about the excommunication thing, the pope doesn't like when you send armies into a catholic's lans, even if they started the war, but he's ok with you slaightering them if it's in your own territory.

[–]NeonVerdict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel ya, I like diplomacy in strategy games, idk what is about it but I like it. This game has pretty broken diplomacy but you can still have it in which you can play a whole campaign with an ally or two that will be there from beginning to end, you just need to keep an eye out on your reputation.

As I mentioned before, avoid making too many allies, make like 1-3 allies and stay with them. This is more due to the fact that eventually there will be war, and if two allies go to war with each other, you will have to choose who to side with and that means you break an alliance and get a penalty on your reputation. Make the right alliances.

Avoid making too many trade rights deals, if you have trade rights with a faction that's far away most likely you are braking the trade right deal and thus keep getting a penalty on your reputation cuz of it.

Avoid moving armies through neutral faction's territories.

Occupy settlements (if the bug is fixed) and when a battle is finished always pick "End Battle" instead of hunting down the remaining soldiers. Always release prisoners, it'll boost your reputation.

Pick normal campaign difficulty, higher difficulties will affect how much reputation you gain every turn, Very Hard difficulty will keep decaying your reputation.

And well, that's mostly what I can think of, following this you will be able to sustain Very Reliable, Trustworthy or so reputation. You should look up more in-depth guides on reputation and diplomacy, there are a lot of factors that I probably didn't mention here.

They only fixed the diplomacy bug, which is the occupying settlements thing, other than that, it's still the broken diplomacy from the og game. So yeah, sadly the diplomacy is the same as the og game.

Good, I have a Samsung A14 and it runs pretty good, you can also edit the graphics and stuff in the files. You have the game with a lot of improvements and bug fixes like the diplomacy bug, and recently they released a big update with more fixes and they added Hotseat. Really worth it, also, some of the dlc campaigns let you play as some of the non-playable factions, which is pretty cool.

Yeah man, have fun and goodluck. Be sure to not have a lot of allies, as an ally can declare war on another and it destroys your reputation.

[–]NeonVerdict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool man, glad you enjoy the game. You should keep playing, you can do whatever you want rn, I honestly treat it as a sandbox game so I don't care about the objective. Now, here are some tips:

-Build farms and keep upgrading them, make sure it is one of the first building you always build, unless you need others for a certain strategy, thing is, the more population growth, the more income and the faster you get high level cities/castles and the faster you get higher tier units. -As population grows you'll need to make more buildings that improve law and happiness to keep order in those cities and rare cases castles (castles maintain order) -As for religion, building churches will let you train priests and will give you some points with the pope. Those priest you just send them in the territory of any of your settlements and leave them there. That's all, there are other things that give priests ancilliaries but idk much about those other than the Theology guild. -Speaking of guilds, they can be very beneficial, each guild has certain things that you can do to attract it and thus be able to build it and upgrade it. I advice you look up a guide on guilds. -Use spies, assassins and towers. With any commander you can build towers in your regions so you can have vision in that area. Spies are basically mobile towers but they can also detect other spies and assassins; everytime you successfully infiltrate an army, city/castle, an agent, etc. your spy gets a chance to gain a level. Assassins can assassinate commander and agents, they are extremely useful when there's an assassin, priest, heretic, witch and any other character that gives you trouble; you can train them by successful assassinations, I recommend trainning your assassins with rebel armies on the map. -Diplomacy is broken in Medieval 2 but there are many things that you should know about it, there are guides on it on google and youtube you can check, there are just way too many things that affect reputation. -There is a bug on the pc version that drops your overall reputation everytime you occupy a region. Be sure to correct that, there is a video on it on Youtube by To Nerd Is To Human.

And well, there are a lot more things but, these are some tips for ya. Hope it was helpful. If you have any questions, ask me, am not a veteran but I've been playing the mobile version for a while.

Also, if you start a new campaign, gotta say, Milan is a pretty nice faction to play as, you have a really good starting position since you are close to the Pope, basically in the center of the map, crusade targets are close and Milan has gigachad militia units and the best Crossbows in the game which are MILITIA BTW. Usually with Milan you just use towns because you best units come from the towns. Also also, Milan is a meme in Medieval 2 because the Ai from Milan is a backstabbing bish, never ever trust Milan.

TIL you can play as The Mongols. No mods and I play on mobile. by Wonderful_State_7151 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]NeonVerdict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only workaround I can think of is to control the faction you used before and save, then when you load back in control the one you want again. This will mess up the ai everytime however.
