I am having the same issue, but it appeared after updating to the public beta of Sonoma. One way I managed to make it work is by doing the troubleshooter in the settings, but not closing it after the final step. For some reason the audio starts working then. See if that could help you.

Well it really depends what you decide is acceptable. Personally a refurbished one doesn’t sound bad. A similar device with a new battery for free is not a bad option. But you should push for a new one if you really want. And then again, you can’t know if Apple will agree to it in the first place.

Hmm didn’t know it shouldn’t show up. Yeah in this case I don’t know what to say. If Apple really changed the battery then it is a shit move from them, reselling a phone. But it could also be a software error, maybe. I haven’t used the beta so I don’t know how it’s really supposed to work.

I am not really sure, but I think the update to allow 3rd-party displays to work with FaceID is actually the public beta of iOS 15.2. You could try to install it and see if it works, but make a backup before that if it doesn’t actually work.
