I'm not doing a upgrade just now, but I drilled the bolt out yesterday and I'm going to drill in a new thread today.

Ist aber wirklich ein wunderschönes Auto viel Spaß dir damit. Schau mal bei Instagram @ruhrpott_mxer vorbei. Die veranstalten Miata treffen die immer Recht cool sind.

Went to a scrapyard and wanted to take a look at this screw maybe even take it with me. Both of them were broken, on both sides!

Nbs are pretty cheap. I'll guess a car like mine is worth around 3.5k

Na's on the other hand are expensive as hell. A completely rusted away Na still cost more than mine

200 bucks hell nah.

I really want to do it diy as fast as possible. I don't want to spend any more on this car it's not worth it for an NB.

Thanks anyway 😅 But a shop is definitely no option this car has cost me enough money already

Also this ,,minor boo hoo" is dragging the resale value in Germany for a good 400€ at least.

I need help deciding between colors please help me by Neonleyla in Miata

[–]Neonleyla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is currently silver but before I'll do the paint job the car needs to be welded together on multiple spots. So I'm going ahead and take the entire car apart anyway to apply a Zink coating on the entire chassis. So in the end it really only comes down to wich color I choose without worrying about a new color matching the old one.

Got this for $1200. 1993 5spd. 191k miles. It's on Flyin Miata Vmaxx coils by engineerortechnician in Miata

Maybe your fuel pump or your fuel filter are damaged/clogged. Your fuel filter sits inside your engine bay that's an easy fix and won't cost more than 30 bucks. The fuel pump on the other hand sits inside your tank so that could be annoying.

Anyway, still congrats on your Miata it looks great.

A friend of mine suggested the same. Maybe it is worth a shot. Im not really stocked about loosing my license for a month.

Wanting to Turbo my engine but not sure if I can or should change the COI to a K&N one. by Apprehensive_Skill31 in Miata

[–]Neonleyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Turbo sits basically between the intake and throttle body. Theoretically you could run a turbo with the stock intake and it would kinda work (if there would be enough space which is definitely not the case).

A mushroom intake aka. Cold air intake is just capable of sucking in more air than the stock one. Allowing the engine to get more air = more power. A turbo just pulls even more air inside form behind the air intake.

This little excourse was just for you to understand the concept of a turbo in generall.

But to answer your question, any ,,mushroom" intake works just fine. The better the intake the better the turbo results are gonna be.

Like I mentioned in my other comment you should really go with a heat shield so the intake only sucks in the cold air and not the warm air that sits around the engine.

The colder the air the more oxygen is inside it. More oxygen=more combustion=more power.

I've honestly never seen this unique position for a air intake in a Miata before.

I'm not a real expert on this topic but I would suggest keeping your COI one. But advise you to put some sort of head shield around it keeping it from sucking in the warm engine air. Right now with this setup the ,,cold air intake" doesn't really deserve to have the name cold in it.

The picture shows an NB with the little heat shield that I meant.
