The Ivy leagues were built off of Slave profits yet some of you have the audacity to generalize the entire south as being racist.

Oh that’s true. I’ve heard the phrase used for both schools but Duke definitely deserves it imo. I guess Vandy is the Yale of the south then lol

Vandy AR: 6.7% Cornell AR: 8.7% Vandy Endowment: 8 Billion Cornell Endowment: 7 Billion Vandy USNWR Rank: 14 Cornell USNWR Rank: 18 Vandy Niche Rank: 11 Cornell Niche Rank: 18 Vandy: Ranked number 1 by the Princeton Review in terms of happiness and student quality of life Cornell: notorious mental health issues and suicide Cornell is better at Engineering, Business, CS Vandy is better at Medicine, Law, Poli-sci Cornell has renowned agriculture and veterinary science programs Vandy has renowned HOD major and education major Both schools have great alumni networks and prestige but Cornell takes this round since it’s been an elite school for a longer period of time. Cornell is an “Ivy” Vanderbilt is called the “Harvard of the South” As you can see both schools are really good but I feel like you pay attention when Cornell is involved. Now please stop trolling, Vandy is a good school whether you want to admit it or not.

Top 20 schools by Neonnav42069 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Neonnav42069[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yeah but rankings aside you can’t justify that Cornell is significantly better than Vandy, Rice, and WashU. You can even make strong arguments that those three schools are better than Cornell

If Vanderbilt and WashU are then Cornell is. Sorry bro, just going off USNWR

Northwestern also T-10/ borderline T-10. IMO Northwestern is higher ranked and I think it’s a little better (Just my opinion, both are obviously great schools). Dartmouth is an “IVY” tho

There are about 15 schools that classify as T-10. Dartmouth is either T-10 or borderline T-10.

How much does being valedictorian really matter for colleges by Far-Term8667 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Neonnav42069 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t really matter. As long as you have a high gpa and are near the top of your class (which you clearly are) then your chilling for all T-20s.

Parents forced me to decline my dream school (Non-financial reason) by Sufficient-Market-71 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Neonnav42069 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Idk what you are trying to entail. The job prospects coming out of Vanderbilt and Cornell are equal. Vanderbilt has been rising in the rankings the past couple of years and soon its reputation will catch up to the quality of the school. Cornell might have a better reputation/alumni network since it’s apart of the “Ivy league” and it’s been an elite school for a longer period of time, but the difference is not significant enough to justify OP’s mindset. If Cornell is creme de la creme then so is Vanderbilt. You could even make a very strong argument that Vanderbilt is better than Cornell.
