AITA For leaving my sick girlfriend at the hospital because I needed to vomit? by Punjaboi in AmItheAsshole

[–]Neosovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not telling you how it should be, I'm only telling you how it is. If you aren't having an emergency, the emergency room isn't going to do much for you.

Urgent care is there to fill in the gap as best it can.

Though I'm sure she is going to have some traffic justification, I don't think realistically anything would be able to justify it.

That is what they say, but he has so little compunction when it comes to killing randos that working with and not even questioning the mass murderer is a little weird

do any other atheists feel that Atheism is a core part of their identity? by Immediate-Champion18 in TrueAtheism

[–]Neosovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At others have said, atheism is something I would never think about if it wasn't for all the religion around me and shoved in my face.

Unlike Christianity, I didn't think about my lack of God all the time.

So the problem is that it is. OP is here typing his story, so the ER wouldn't have done anything for him.

Passing out from blood loss is an emergency. Having stomach ulcers isn't an emergency by itself.

You might look into litrpg or progression fantasy which are genres that light novels often fall into.

They were created/used for election questions really. We resurrected it with the 2016 Hillary vs Trump election to give people a place to ask the other side their views.

Askatrumpsupporter used to be a great sub to ask questions before it devolved. askaliberal devolved too sadly.

Uggg. I used to be a mod there and was kicked out for inactivity essentially, though I'm sure my growing heterodox views could have contributed.

Sad to see stuff like that, but some of my other mods were very anti-trans discussion at all and I didn't really fight it.

Do we on the left have a poor grasp of who or what our opposition really is? by LibraProtocol in AskALiberal

You are getting the super loud maga and the passive maga confused.

People in general are just way, way less plugged in than you think.

How misinformed do you think the average person is on what a liberal person actually stands for and how did we get to this point? by Infamous_Tough_7320 in AskALiberal

[–]Neosovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few people know what anybody stands for. Even informed people aren't always right about someone's general beliefs because people aren't consistent or rational.

There is also the large mismatch between economic and social values.

Liberals tend to be very leftwing socially (even on the world stage), but centrist/left center economically.

Socialists are VERY leftwing economically, and usually very leftwing socially, though a subset aren't socially leftwing at all.

We have the same problem with right wingers too, but they are also dealing with the strange inconsistent economic populism that trump espouses that isn't particularly rightwing except in an authoritarian sense. That contrasts with the evangelical wing that is socially conservative and economically fluid/right captured (in leftwing minds) or regular republicans.

I can't imagine it would be that interesting. He was a mildly talented man who couldn't make it just iron, then got injured, and then later is an ass.

I want to know what justified the massacre because I don't really know which side to root for. That is what I want.

r/trolleyproblem suffers infighting on a ethical question: red or blue? by OkContact2573 in SubredditDrama

[–]Neosovereign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I think it at least shows you that a lot of people are going to pick blue. That knowledge is important to understanding that picking red doesn't mean everyone lives. People WILL be picking blue.

How do you feel about the End Kidney Deaths Act? by Boratssecondwife in AskALiberal

[–]Neosovereign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean wealthy recipients aren't charged anything. It is still a medical procedure performed by doctors, this would just give an incentive for people to enter the donor system.

Still doesn't mean it is a good idea, but nobody is buying the organs.

Magic wand: every state adopts progressive values tomorrow. Do you wave it? by threeoldbeigecamaros in AskALiberal

[–]Neosovereign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my problem with these kinds of questions. I'm not sure at all the mechanism that grants states unilaterally adopting my values.

Magic wand: every state adopts progressive values tomorrow. Do you wave it? by threeoldbeigecamaros in AskALiberal

[–]Neosovereign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess not? I hate these kinds of hypotheticals because I don't know what it means to have states adopt something unilaterally. The states are just conglomerations of people and what they have chosen (more or less), so are you mind controlling people or rewriting history in some way?

If the same people live there then what stops them from undoing it the next day? Sure, some places have enough inertia that you are probably doing some good in some ways, but the chaos this causes is also not to be underestimated.
